Notables of the Raqqa clans: We will not surrender until situation of leader is revealed

 Since the kidnapping of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, the Turkish occupation state imposes strict isolation on him, and deprives him of his most basic rights. In the recent period,  his situation is kept secret, and in the last visit of the European Committee against Torture to Imrali prison last September, the committee tried to hide  not meeting him.

In this regard, Sheikh Ibrahim al-Hadi, the sheikh of the al-Musa al-Zaher clan in the city of Raqqa, said, "We always demand the physical freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan. His freedom is the peoples' of the region in general, especially the peoples of northern Syria. The leader Ocalan sacrificed his freedom for the sake of the people's freedom, and the price of this, is his kidnapping and isolating him from the world.”

 Al-Hadi demanded that the situation of the leader Ocalan be disclosed, adding: "We support any position that helps reveal the leader's situation and achieve his freedom. We condemn the position of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT), which visited the leader and did not give any clear statement about his condition in Imrali Prison."

 He explained, "Turkey is fighting an entire people and detaining the freedom of an entire people. It is fighting the peoples of the region and reserving their freedom by seizing the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and we will not stand and will not surrender until the leader's body is shown and his health revealed."

 At the end of his speech, Al-Hadi denounced, "Any situation that prevents the freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and revealing his health condition. Today we are following the path of the leader Ocalan and we will not abandon this thought under any circumstances."

"We want a clear international position on the issue of removing the leader."

 For his part, the notable of the Walda clan, Yusuf al-Asaad, said: "Turkey is imposing isolation on the leader Abdullah Ocalan. This great leader, thinker and philosopher is isolated in a small room."

 He pointed out, "During this period, we do not know anything about the leader Ocalan. So why does Turkey impose this siege on this symbol, which is considered one of the symbols of the world? (...) Because his thought undermines their ambitions and plans in the world."

 During his speech, Al-Asaad referred to the "Right to Hope" law, and continued by saying, "Where are the countries that signed this decision, why is it not applied to leader Ocalan?"

 He added, "Where are they from this injustice that is being practiced against the leader Abdullah Ocalan? We want all countries to take a clear position on the issue of removing the leader, and we call on all countries and international organizations to stand by our demands for the release of the leader Abdullah Ocalan."

 At the end of his speech, Al-Asaad stressed, "We, the sheikhs and notables of the clans of the city of Raqqa, demand that human rights activists and lawyers be allowed to visit the leader Abdullah Ocalan and immediately reveal his health condition, and achieve physical freedom."
