'85 families have been displaced from Damascus to Manbij and Kobani'

Fearing the arrest of her family, who are still residing in the areas controlled by the Damascus government, she said, "The situation has become catastrophic, as she is a mother of 3 children, the youngest of whom is an 8-month-old girl."

And she continued, "We are living in real famine, we do not know when we can go out into the streets and search for food among the garbage (scavenge through waste). This is the case for most families; when you walk in the street, you see men and women digging through the garbage. Yes, this is the case of the capital, Damascus, under this government!" The worst year the Syrians have passed, it takes an average of 50,000 Syrian pounds per day just to eat, which is equivalent to one and a half million SP per month, where do we get that from? My husband earns only 300 thousand SP per month."

She added, "Talking about electricity has become a point of ridicule within 24 hours. The government provides us with only two hours. Forget about that. In two years, we have not been able to put the heater and keep warm despite the harsh winter conditions. In short, we are on the brink of collapse!"

Universities and ovens stop due to lack of fuel
