8th HRRK conference held in Qamishlo

The eighth general conference of the Kurdistan Rojava Intellectuals Union HRRK was kicked off at the level of the Jazera region, this Friday morning in the city of Qamishlo, under the slogan "We will remain until the last drop of ink or blood with participation of 80 members from the cities of (Hasaka, Derik, Amuda, and Qamishlo).

The conference started with a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, then the head of the Union, Walid Bakr said: "The Rojava Kurdistan Intellectuals Union has a long history in the Kurdish cultural struggle, which is considered one of the centers of cultural influence on the homeland, along with the fighters despite the challenges and crises, the members of the Union refused to leave the homeland, and decided to fight with their thoughts, pens, and culture to write heroic epics for future generations.

He stressed, "HRRK is the cultural identity of all Kurdish intellectuals, writers, and poets in Rojava."

 He concluded, "We thank everyone who participated in founding the Union, and we wish success for the work of the conference to enrich and develop Kurdish culture and literature."

The members of the administrative body will be elected at the end of the conference

the Rojava Intellectuals Union of Kurdistan; It is a federation concerned with Kurdish culture and literature. It was established in 2014 in Germany, however it returned to the homeland to continue its cultural activitie.

 It has branches in Başûr (Southern Kurdistan) and Bakur (Northern Kurdistan) and Europe in addition to the city of Kobani.

 A similar conference is expected to be held in the city of Kobani in the coming days.
