Clergies, Notables denounce silence of Islamic countries on Turkish crimes

As part of a series of reactions condemning the Turkish attacks and crimes against NE Syria, dozens of clans and clerics in Qamishlo Canton issued a statement to the public opinion, in which they made it clear that the attacks of the Turkish occupation will not discourage them from supporting Syrian Democratic Forces.

The statement was read by one of the clerics in the Derik district, Sinan Ahmed, at the Martyr Bawer Center of the Syrian Revolutionary Youth in the district.

The statement denounced "the attacks which target civilians, infrastructure, hospitals, grain silos, fuel, oil and electricity stations, and places of worship."

The statement continued, "Turkish fascism has taken the play of the Istanbul bombing as pretext to strike the gains of the July 19 revolution, which achieved security and stability for all societal components, including Arabs, Kurds, Syriacs, Chaldeans, Assyrians and Yazidis, based on the philosophy of brotherhood of peoples.

The statement stressed "the attacks will not undermine our will, but rather increase our determination and insistence on the unity of our ranks and rallying around the forces to protect our land and dignity."

In conclusion, the statement also criticized the international silence, especially the Islamic countries, over the Turkish crimes in the region.
