Outcome of month of Turkish crimes in occupied Afrin

During the month of October, the occupied Canton of Afrin witnessed a series of crimes committed by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against citizens and nature in light of olive harvest season, and the deployment of mercenaries of "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham" in the Canton.

In this context, the spokesman of human rights organization Afrin - Syria, Ibrahim Sheikho told ANHA, "After the occupation of Afrin Canton in March 2018, the Turkish occupation through its mercenaries and intelligence, practiced all kinds of crimes that directly target the people through kidnapping, murder and extortion, and crimes that target the nature through burning forests and cutting down trees, and the occupation policy aimed at changing the demographics of the region with the support of several parties with charitable names."

20 people were kidnapped, including 2 women

Sheikho revealed that during last October, the mercenaries of Turkish occupation kidnapped 20 citizens, including 2 women from Afrin Canton, on false accusations, "at the beginning of October, the Turkish occupation, through its intelligence and mercenaries, kidnapped 20 citizens, including 2 women, in order to intimidate them and take ransoms from them."

He also pointed out that the occupation mercenaries imposed royalties on Olive seasons in the Canton, and also seized many olive groves in Rajo and Bulbila districts.

The deployment of "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham "in Afrin is a "sitcom"

Sheikho touched on the deployment of "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly al-Nusra)" in the occupied Afrin Canton, considering it as "sitcom" that was carried out by direct orders from the Turkish occupation.

Sheikho pointed to the crimes committed by the mercenaries of "Hayat Tahrir al-Sham" after they entered Afrin, and said that they "impose so-called" zakat tax "on the seasons of crops, in addition to other ransoms, and they also destroyed the religious shrines located in the Canton.

Sheikho explained that with the beginning of the olive harvest season, " each faction of mercenaries imposes a royalties, ranging from 40% to 65%".

And he also said "In some villages in the district of Shra, the people refrained from reaping their crop, but the mercenaries forced them to pay and imposed royalties of 65%, and in the village of Ali Jaro in the district of Bulbila they made them to harvest olives and give it to the mercenaries of Siqur al-Shamal under false pretexts and allegations, through which they seek to plunder the seasons of the people".
