European delegation pledges to convey voice of displaced people in Afrin to European Parliament

The European Parliament delegation from the German Green Party, consisting of a representative of the German Green Party in the European Parliament, Catherine Langensien, and her assistant, Ferdi Nandur, visited the headquarters of the Afrin Social Association in the city of Qamishlo, yesterday, Friday, and met the administrators, Hevin Mustafa and Ibrahim Haftar, who spoke about the conditions of the people of Afrin and their suffering with the daily Turkish crimes.

The two administrators also talked about the suffering of the people of Afrin residing in the al-Shahba camps, and the need to provide them with all forms of support, stressing that their main demand is to return to their areas and end the Turkish occupation.

They asked Catherine to convey the voice of the people of Afrin and their demands to the European Parliament and human rights organizations in Europe to pressure Turkey and hold it accountable for the crimes it committed with its mercenaries in Afrin.

The Association's Administrators also talked about the model of democratic project, which achieved security and stability in the regions of NE Syria.

For her part, European Parliament member Catherine Langensipen expressed her awareness of the suffering of the people of Afrin, and promised to convey their voice and their suffering to the German Green Party circles as well as to the European Parliament.

At the end of the meeting, the Afrin Social Association presented a souvenir to the European Parliament delegation from the German Green Party, which is a model bearing the image of the olive tree, which is a symbol of Afrin.

The delegation of the European Parliament, consisting of Catherine Langensien, and her assistant Ferdi Nandur, met the Committee of the Immigrants of Serêkaniyê at the Guest Palace in Amuda before visiting the Afrin Social Association.
