​​​​​​​French Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation visits department of foreign relations in NE Syria

The delegation was received by the joint presidency of the Department of Foreign Relations, Bedran Çiya Kurd, the vice co-chairmanship, Fanar Al-Kait, and members of the administrative board, Rubil Baho, and Khaled Ibrahim.

The two sides touched on many important files, especially the Syrian file and the challenges facing the region in fighting terrorism, and supporting the region in terms of service, economic and humanitarian terms.

The co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations Bedran Çiya Kurd said that France has an important role and has pivotal role in the international equation and what is happening in the region, calling on France to play an important role in supporting efforts for a political solution away from the agendas of regional countries.

In his turn, Ambassador Stéphane Romatet said that France is interested and follows up on the changes taking place in the region and Syria.

Bedran Çiya Kurd explained that the control of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham "Jabhat al-Nusra" over areas in Afrin and elsewhere are nothing but plans woven within the framework of the reconciliation policy pursued by Turkey with Damascus.

For his part, Romatet stated that France agrees with the Autonomous Administration's opinion regarding the recent military and security changes in the occupied territories, in terms of outcomes and causes, and appreciates the Autonomous Administration's efforts with the international community to combat terrorism.

Bedran Çiya Kurd stressed the need for the international community to provide support to the Autonomous Administration by providing more support in the political, economic and security fields.

Ambassador Romatet affirmed his country's aspiration to develop the relationship with the Autonomous Administration and strengthen it to higher levels in the political, military, security, service, economic and health fields.

Romatet pointed out that the French government will work with the Autonomous Administration to search for possible solutions to the camps of ISIS/ Daesh families, and to return ISIS families and their children of French origin.
