Liberated Yazidi woman arrives in Şengal after 8 years of kidnapping by ISIS

Sawsan Hassan Haider, 24, was kidnapped by ISIS mercenaries along with 9 members of her family, during the ISIS attack on Şengal district on August 3, 2014, and she was liberated after 8 years, by the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) and the Syrian Democratic Forces in Al-Hol camp, where the Şengal resistance units, in turn, handed her over to her relatives.

According to Roj News Agency, Sawsan Haidar said after her arrival in Şengal: "The terrorist organization ISIS kidnapped me and during their attack on Şengal. They separated the men and women and took me to Anbar Governorate, then to the city of Mosul, and after that to the city of Raqqa in Syria." She added: "The terrorist organization was trading in women and children and always seeks to spread fear and terror in us, that the Yazidi community will not accept our return."

She added, "They took me to Al-Mayadin, Al-Bukamal, Hajin, and Al-Baghouz, and after the latter was liberated by the Syrian Democratic Forces, they took us to Al-Hol camp, where I lived for 4 years in the Migrant Department

Haidar thanked the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Women's Protection Units that liberated them during the "humanity and security" campaign.
