Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been detained for 24 years under the Imrali regime, which is even worse than Guantánamo Prison, a political detention of international forces. There is no parallel to his resistance, to his arrest or even to the practices committed against him in the twenty-first century.

Besides the removal of leader Abdullah Ocalan, whom the peoples considered their leader, from Syria 24 years ago; The international conspiracy against women's freedom, the democratic ecological life and the peoples' struggle for freedom, has also begun. Europe closed all its airports, blocked asylum claims, prevented leader Ocalan from going to Europe and allowed his abduction in Kenya. Although he had applied for asylum in Greece, he had been abducted in Kenya. The plot against leader Abdullah Ocalan intensified with his extradition to Turkey on 15 February 1999.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan was imprisoned in Imrali Prison on February 15, 1999, a symbolic day, when the uprising of Sheikh Saeed began on February 13, 1925. The Turkish State sought to repeat history by exterminating and denying the Kurdish people. leader Ocalan considers this a cosmic history to be tried in person.

In Imrali prison, run by the "Strict Security Implementation System", which has been prepared as a continuation of the international conspiracy, the isolation regime, which has gone beyond even the Guantánamo regime, has been applied; 24 years ago it advanced as a rights violation ring and became an organizer. leader Abdullah Ocalan describes this prison as "the coffin that is the most important part of the Gladio Grand Plot, Guantánamo ", which has participated in this stage and cooperated in the intensification of isolation by more than 50 States and forces.

History of prisons in Turkey

Island prisons have been used as a tactic many times since the Ottoman era and the Turkish state has also implemented this since the 1950s. The climate and conditions of the prisons on the islands condemn prisoners to death. Turkey ' Yasi Ada Prison and Sinop Prison (both prisons were later converted into museums). But Imrali prison is much worse than both. The area of the Imrali prison, which opened on August 11, 1935, is 10 square kilometres. It was then a semi-open prison in which the former Prime Minister of the Turkish State was imprisoned; Adnan Mendris, Minister Faten Rashto Zorlo and Hassan Bolat Kan, revolutionary film Yilmaz Kunai, photographer Ibrahim Balabane and Roman photographer Angola Staffonodis.

In "high security prisons", detainees are isolated and imposed silent death, i.e. spiritual and moral death. The purpose of these prisons is to deprive detainees of their right to life, in particular to deny them employment... Everything about life is forbidden and prevented by a very tight isolation. Any form of human relations between detainees is also prohibited. One prison known to be such a prison; Stamheim Prison in Germany and Long Keith Prison in Britain. Imrali prison was even worse than Guantánamo prison, located on the island and described as heavily guarded. Detainees in Guantánamo enjoyed certain rights, but everything, including visits and communications, was prohibited, and prison conditions were specifically prepared.

In the context of the international conspiracy against leader Ocalan, on February 4, 1999, the semi-open Imrali prison in the Marmara Sea was emptied and designated as the headquarters of the Army Command. The area around the island was declared a military zone, under the pretext of reform; An Imrali prison has been rebuilt again, with one person remaining. When leader Ocalan was transferred to Imrali prison, the island was declared a "special security zone". Leader Ocalan is a "detainee of international forces and a political detainee" but they put him in a prison he called the "Haddes cemetery" and changed all the circumstances and sentences. The management style is designed in line with the conspiratorial forces. leader Ocalan said that Imrali prison was run by a "three-arm system" and explained that the system had one arm in the United States and one in Europe and another in Turkey.

All that was done was to speed up the process of silent death. Leader Ocalan evaluates the decision to abolish the death penalty and impose the aggravated isolation on him as "taking a step towards death overtime and staying in the" death corridor "worse than execution."

When Leader Abdullah Ocalan was imprisoned in Imrali prison, the Ministry of Justice was exempted from the prison administration and the department was handed over to the Crisis Liaison Office in Modania on behalf of the Prime Minister's Crisis Management Centre. The Secretariat-General of the National Security Council (MGK) assumed the management/coordination function of the Prime Minister's Crisis Management Centre. In this way, they isolated a more Imrali prison and prevented civilian vessels from approaching the island for more than 3 miles and prevented helicopters flying over the island. Imrali prison is the first to not conduct any investigation, trial or conviction together, as no other prison has witnessed it.

Aggravated isolation and poor weather conditions in Imrali, which severely damage human health, have increased leader APO's discomfort. Leader APO, who until 15 February 1999 only suffered from sinusitis within a short period of time due to conditions of isolation and torture, began to suffer from new health problems such as pharyngitis and asthma. He developed a pharynx disease, and started to experience pain and itchiness in his throat. He also suffered from respiratory distress, severe headaches, chills in the body. However, any contact with the outside was severed and the absolute isolation continued. Monitored by cameras throughout the day. They made a fuss by opening and closing the ventilation door and sentenced it to the confinement of the area and to remain unbreathed and punished inside the cell. Medical tests were suspended after May 2010. He has been deprived of his right to health care for 24 years, and his lawyer, family and democratic public opinion have not been accepted for medical examination by an independent medical commission and have never taken him outside.

Physical attacks and threats

When lawyers examined leader Abdullah Ocalan's hair on 1 March 2007; Turns out he was poisoned. It was found that the cell in which he was detained had been painted a year earlier and that the poisoning could have resulted from such paint. In July 2008, leader Ocalan's hair was forcibly shaved by the prison administration. Previously, in September 2007, they had also tried to forcibly shave his hair. This was revealed during the lawyers' meeting on 4 July 2008. During this meeting, the commander said of this behaviour by the prison: "They shaved the hair. The State wants to send this message "We control you and we can do what we want and when we want, you are in our grip and under our control for 24 hours."

In October 2008, they made him lie on the ground for allegedly searching his cell, which he described as the "coffin", and searching the cell. After these practices, the prison administration changed the leader's cell and transferred him to a smaller cell. During the attempted coup d 'état of 15 July, the island of Imrali, where leader Ocalan was arrested, was shot from the air. On 27 February 2020, a fire broke out on the island or was deliberately set on fire.

AKP Government prevented meetings

The first encounter took place on 25 February 1999 when the leader was arrested in Imrali on an international plot. Leader Ocalan was arrested alone during the first 12 years of his arrest and was allowed to meet with his lawyer for only one hour. But he was always deprived of these limited rights. The right to meet with lawyers was reduced from once until 2001 to once thereafter. The right to meet with lawyers was denied after AKP came to power in November 2002. Lawyers were banned from meeting during the 2011 elections.

He was allowed to meet with him after eight years of interruption as a result of hunger strikes

After meeting with the HDP delegation on April 5, 2015, some 50 Kurdish politicians began a hunger strike. Following this operation, the leader's family met with him on 11 September 2016. Hunger strikes and death fasting resulted in lawyers meeting with their client Abdullah Ocalan eight years after the interruption, with the first meeting held on May 2, 2019. Five meetings were held that year.

After a fire was detected on Imrali Island, people took to the streets in many places to receive news from their leader and various events were organized. His family met him on March 3, 2020. Due to the COVID- 19 pandemic, he was allowed to make a phone call on April 27 and 21 years after his arrest. During this call, the commander spoke of the unexpected status of Imrali, saying: "I am now fine, and I don't know what will happen in the future."

Lawyers A and 218 filed requests to meet their client within 11 years

After spreading rumours about leader Abdullah Ocalan to the media, the leader spoke to his brother, Mohammed Ocalan, by telephone for three or four minutes and then disconnected. During his brief telephone call, leader Ocalan expressed his rejection of the aggravated state of isolation and demanded that his right to meet with his lawyer be guaranteed and called on those responsible to act in accordance with the law against this illegal situation.

Lawyers met with leader Abdullah Ocalan only 442 times during the 24 years, while lawyers for al-Asr Legal Office A and 218 filed requests to meet with their client leader Ocalan between July 27, 2011 and September 20, 2022. Hundreds of such requests remained unanswered and tried to obstruct the rest under flimsy pretexts and arguments.

"Promoting popular unity is the only way to thwart the conspiracy."

versus aggravated isolation, prison conditions and practices; leader Ocalan continues to struggle, resist and reject political practices imposed on him. Commander Ocalan says of this historical resistance: "Physical life is not important, we die day after day and hour after hour. But for the sake of the homeland; I like to make free life continue in Turkey, Mesopotamia and Kurdistan! Because of the love of free life, I try to destroy the darkness of the historic international conspiracy with the limited possibilities available here, as if I am digging a needle and striving to foil the conspiracy with a democratic solution and honourable peace. We are facing a historic conspiracy. The only way to thwart this conspiracy, despite all hostile endeavours, is to promote democratic people's unity."
