​​​​​​​leader in PPCM: The Syrian political solution is linked to gathering of democratic forces in broad front

 To reach a common formula and a dialogue that brings together Syrians without any external interference, the Syrian Democratic Council held a consultative forum in the city of Qamishlo on 16/17 September, in which Syrian national and democratic figures participated, who believed that the most appropriate solution to the Syrian crisis would be among the Syrians themselves.

 Regarding the importance of these efforts and their role in bringing the opposition together under one roof, our agency held a meeting with the leader of the Path of Peaceful Change Movement, Mohsen Aqel Ahmed, about the overall Syrian political situation.

 There is no way out of the crisis except dialogue

 As for the outcome of the Syrian crisis, Aqel Ahmed, asserts: “There is no way out of this intractable crisis except dialogue, and dialogue needs two parties, whether it is dialogue or negotiation. The first party is the gathering of democratic forces called for by the Council of  Democratic Syria and tries, as much as possible, to gather these forces, and the second party, as a rule, is the regime. Later, it is not possible to negotiate with a party outside the frameworks.

The regime is currently not looking for a solution

 Regarding Damascus’ insistence on not changing its mentality, Ahmed points out: “The regime is currently not looking for a solution because, in the political sense, it feels that it has eliminated most of the armed organizations. As for the Syrian Democratic Council and the Autonomous Administration, it does not see in them danger."

 The regime is striving hard to reproduce itself, and this is impossible

 In response to our question about Damascus' insistence on restoring its previous position, Ahmed clarifies: "The regime is in fact striving to reproduce itself. This matter has become impossible. As inside Syria there are democratic parties. Before the Syrian movement, it was not possible to launch any case of political action unless it is punishable by law and the security services."

 The political solution depends on the alliance of democratic forces under a dead end

 On the appropriate way to solve the Syrian crisis, Ahmed believes that the political solution is first linked to the gathering of democratic forces in a broad front, grouping or alliance and the Syrian Democratic Council has central role in it.

 The world is tired of the opposition that has given up  to the outside

 Ahmed noted that this issue gives these opposition forces a broad international action, as the outside world is almost tired of the external opposition that has mortgaged itself since the beginning of the Syrian movement to the Gulf states first, and to the European countries and the Western world secondly. He said: “The West is not looking for a solution because it believes that this opposition  has sold itself over and over, so it doesn't see it as a better case than the regime."

 Launching a platform for internal opposition that must attract the countries of the world

 Ahmed stresses that "launching an opposition or an internal opposition platform must attract the countries of the world, whether the regime's allies such as Russia and Iran or the countries of the European Union will have an active role in resolving the Syrian crisis by putting pressure on the regime. This is what I see regarding this conference on the Syrian-Syrian dialogue."

Turkey played a negative role in destroying the Syrian infrastructure

 Ahmed added: "Turkey intervened in Syria to achieve two things. The first is represented in Turkish ambitions in Syrian territory, which are new Ottoman ambitions, and Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu wrote about them in his book issued in 2009, and the second is that Turkey has a goal in eliminating the national minorities."  The Syrian Kurds may not have been enemies of Turkey, but the Turks see the Kurds as their enemies, as Turkey played a very negative role in destroying the Syrian structure.

 The regime is not in a hurry for any political solution

 The Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Council have more than once called on the Damascus government to sit at the dialogue table to solve the Syrian dilemma and end the tragedy of the Syrians, but Damascus insists on imposing its previous authority, and about that, Ahmed indicates that "the regime is not in a hurry for any political solution, as it feels, it has made tremendous progress."

  He said: "When we talk about a project that blocks the formation of a strong opposition through an alliance or a front, it is for the purpose of international gain for it and in order to close the file of the external opposition and to consider it as the true legitimate representative of the Syrians."

 Without any international pressure, the regime will not negotiate with any of the internal opposition teams

 The leader of the Peaceful Change Path Movement, Mohsen Aqel Ahmed, explained that "the regime negotiates with the Syrian Democratic Council when there is international pressure on it, and without any international pressure, the regime will not advance a single step to dialogue with any of the internal opposition groups."
