Jurist calls on rights’ institutions to put pressure on Turkey to implement Right of Hope

Ibrahim also pointed out that "the European Court of Human Rights is responsible for the implementation of all the conventions and resolutions adopted thereto, including the" Right to Hope "resolution. Therefore, the Court must be pressured by the United Nations Security Council to apply all international covenants and laws."

Referring to the deliberate disregard by the Turkish state for requests made by leader Ocalan's lawyers to meet with him since 2019, he said "this disregard is contrary to human rights rules and all decisions of human rights and humanitarian organizations."

Ibrahim called on the European Court to oblige the Turkish occupying state to apply all international norms and laws and to intensify efforts regarding the isolation imposed on leader Ocalan; To attract pay attention all worldwide at large that this isolation is contrary to all human values and they must break it.

Ibrahim demanded that "all jurists advocating for freedoms and human rights, and not only those entrusted with leader Ocalan, submit requests to the UN Security Council to direct the European Commission of Human Rights to expedite the implementation of its decisions and release the leader and his associates in Imrali prison".

In conclusion, Shadi al-Ibrahim stressed that "the people of North and East Syria must have an active footprint by providing messages to all human rights actors; To compel the Turkish state to implement all United Nations resolutions, in particular the "Right of Hope", and to release leader Ocalan and all detainees.
