PKK Executive Committee member Duran Kalkan participated in an interview on the “Medya Haber” TV channel.

In the interview, Kalkan warned about Turkish intentions regarding the Zakho massacre and their plans for inciting a civil war in Iraq. In the interview, Kalkan called for a stronger struggle against the Turkish state`s use of chemical and forbidden weapons and said: “Tactical nuclear bombs are being used. Our Central Command has provided evidence that thermobaric bombs are being used. This is a type of tactical nuclear bombs. The Turks call it a small atom bomb. This is what they call it in Turkish. We have documents. Since 2017, these have been used several times in the Media Defense Zones. They have even admitted so themselves. According to documents containing confessions that we have obtained, these types of bombs have also been used a lot in tunnels in Afrin”

Kalkan stated that the the Republic of Turkey are not able to make these weapons on their own and that these bombs are made by the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Germanyu and France. Kalkan stated that: “They receive them from those states and later put them to use. We have previosly asked the Nato General Secretary, the US administration annd Pentagon. The Turkish state uses NATO bombs. In other words, they are not using their own bombs. They are using prohibited bombs. We have yet to receive an answer regarding this. We are waiting for a statement to be made. The general public is waiting for a statement on this matter.”

Kalkan stressed that the Kurds and their supporters should increase their efforts in exposing this topic and increase their level of struggle against the use of forbidden weapons.

‘THE DECISSION OF CARRYING OUT MASSACRES MADE BY TURKISH NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL’

Duran Kalkan especially evaluated the topic of the massacres in Perekh village in Zakho and the massacre in Qamishlo.

Kalkan commemorated the Arab citizens martyred in the massacre and shared the pain of the Arab people and the relatives of the victims.

Kalkan stated that:”In my opinion, one must see the connection between the massacre in Perekh and Qamishlo where Jiyan Tolhildan and her comrades were massacred and evaluate them in the same context. They were carried out consecutively. One on July 20 and the next on July 22. Tayyip Erdogan is still denying it and he tries to clear himself by denial.

He asked for aproval from NATO to attack North and East Syria. After that, on July 19, he went to Tehran to ask for approval. He was not able to get approval from neither sides. It was said at first that approval was received from NATO, but hen the U.S announced that they are against it and that they are against such attacks. At the Tehran Summit, both Russia and Iran stated clearly that they oppose to such attacks and said that it would destroy the peace and stability and said they are against this. Just after arriving back home, he asked for the National Security Council to hold a meeting. The Council convened on Erdogan`s request. Right after the meeting, the Perekh massacre was carried out. It happened one after the other.

Who commited it, did it deliberately and well organized; there is no need for such discussions. The decission was made by the Turkish National Security Council and a massacre was carried out. The decission was made at such a level and was made deliberately and well planned. Why was such a massacre carried out? Because they are stuck in Zap. They can`t advance and they can`t retreat. They do not have the possibility to run away.

'THREATS AGAINST IRAQ WITH THE PEREKH MASSACRE, THREATS AGAINST THE COALITION WITH THE QAMISHLO MASSACRE

They have lost the ability to advance. They are loosing and disapearing step by step. They have now come towards the election period. The AKP-MHP leadership are as good as gone. They are in their final days. In order to regain their position of authority, they have the need for some type of victory. That`s what they are searching for. They attepmt to occupy some parts of Rojavam this is how they attempt to redefine Turkish nationalism and force and pressure their way towards winning the elections. They are not capable of this. Because they are not able to do this, they carried out this massacre as a threat to those forces who are getting in their way. With the Perekh massacre, they threatened Iraq. With the Qamishlo massacre, they threatened the coalition. Until now, the coalition has yet to make a statement on the Perekh massacre. But they condemned the massacre of Jiyan Tolhildan and her comrades. Why did they condemn it? Because it was an attack on the coalition. In other words, it was a threat towards the coalition. They understood this and gave some kind of response.

This is the situation which AKP finds itself in. They try to understand what will happen if they attack without prior approval. They are decisive regarding attacks. They will seize any opportunity that presents itself to attack Rojava and North and East Syria. Everyone should know this and be ready for it.”

Throughout the interview, Kalkan spoke on several topics, also including the genocidal attack on Shengal on August 3, 2014 and praised HPG, YJA-STAR, YPG and YPJ`s efforts. He stated that: ”A genocidal attack was carried out against Shengal. Everyone saw and understood this. Against this, the HPG and YJA-STAR forces carried out a great resistance and struggle. YPJ and YPG also supported this struggle and resistance. They did not allow for a massacre to become a genocide. In this way, a genocide was prevented. They prevented the first quarter of the 21st century to become like a dark spot on the face of humanity”

Kalkan further stated that: “Decissions were made between the administration in Hawler(Erbil) and Baghdad. Turkey is always attacking. After DAESH was defeated, Turkey started carrying out airstrikes as a means of massacre. From the ground, it was demanded that KDP would make sure the Iraqi administration got attacked. A great resistance was carried out against this. The Yazidi community wants to have its own administration and carry out their system of democratic autonomy”

Kalkan also said that: “ A great struggle is being displayed. This struggle must continue with decisiveness. Ofcourse, one must be cautious and develope ways and means and perform a sollution. However, they should definitely have that organization that will not allow attacks of massacre and genocide to happen again”
