​​​​​​​Newroz Ahmed: The Turkish state can not be stopped with condolence messages

Along with the threats of occupying new regions, the Turkish state continues its attacks agaisnt the regions of NE Syria. There has been an increase in the targeting of leading figures from the revolution.

Most recently, on July 22, a Turkish occupation drone targeted a car on the Qamishlo highway, resulting in the martyrdom of 3 SDF and YPJ commanders; Jiyan Tolhildan, Roj Khabour and Barin Botan. The people are displaying a strong attitude towards these attacks and hold the International Coalition`s forces responsible as they hold the airspace open for the Turkish state to carry out attacks.

Newroz Ahmed, member of the SDF General Command, spoke to AHNA Newsagency regarding the attacks by the Turkish state against the regions of North and East Syria and the recent attack and martyrdom of the 3 mentioned female commanders.

Newroz Ahmed pointed out that they will avenge the martyrs and said: “By strengthening our unity we will be able to thwart and counter new attacks and liberate our regions which are occupied. We will do whatever is needed from us”

Ahmed pointed out that by the targeting of leading figures, commanders and the people, the occupation aims at emtpying the region and weaken our military forces by leaving them without leadership and stated: ”In fact, this strategy has actually turned back on them”

`ALL 3 COMRADES CARRIED OUT THE HEAVY BURDONS OF THIS REVOLUTION`

Newroz Ahmed spoke regarding the personalities of the three martyrs, Jiyan Tolhildan, Roj Khabour, Barin Botan and said: “ Both comrade Jiyan Tolhildan and Roj Khabour have had their place in the Revolition since the very beginning. They participated in the battle of Serekaniye, Aleppo, Afrin, Kobane, Manbij, Raqqa and the final operation against ISIS in Baghouz. They participated in these battles as commanders. After the end of these operations, comrade Jiyan continued here part of the struggle through being among the special forces in addition to being part of the International Coallition`s administration and coordination. These comrades carried out the heavy burdons of the revolution. Their participation was in the most challenging and difficult places and they carried out their duty witout hesitation. When comrade Barin joined, she joined on these hardworking principles and  she took the name Barin and displayed a great will to be at the very frontline in fighting against the attacks and the occupation.”

`THEIR ATTACKS FAILED AND ARE USING DIRTY METHODS`

Ahmed spoke on the methonds used in martyging the leading figures of the society and stated that this shows the weakness of the Turkish state and added: “ After the battle against ISIS was over, the Turkish state immediately started their attacks against our regions. They occupied our regions and waged an intense war against us. This resulted in the revolution in North and East Syria going over in a new phase. If this wasn`t enough, they are also continuing to come up with false pretexts for attacks and claim there is a threat to them. They use the methods of intelligence and technology. During the last few years in NE Syria, they have resorted to these kinds of attacks with high level of intensity. In short, this is a very dirty method used by the Turkish state. They didn`t achieve results from the other attacks, so they resort to these methods now. This is due to the fact that they are helpless and weak. They use technology with the aim of weakening the revolution. The targeting of our commander comrades and leaders, is a sign of great weakness and helplessnes.”

`THE PLAN TURNED ON THEM`

“ They resort to such methods in attempts to leave the region without leadership and empty the reigon.” This is how Ahmed describes the aim of the Turkish state. She continued: “ In the past, as the people in the targeted areas became stronger, and supported their leaders and their land, this is more prominent. The strength of our people and fighters defeats all attacks. The plans of the Turkish state are being defeated. By the targeting of leaders, commanders and the people, they want to empty the region and weaken our military forces and leave it without leadership. This is how they attempt to achieve their goals. Instead, this plan has turned against them”

THE RESULT OF THE OCCUPIER`S INTOLERANCE TOWARDS WOMEN

On the 10th anniversary of the revolution and the targeting of the 3 women after the Women`s Revolution Forum, Ahmed evaluated this as the result of the Turkish state`s intolerance towards the women`s revolution and said: “ We have entered the 11th year of the revolution. This revolution has entered this phase step by step. In particular, the progress of women in terms of women's participation, primarily in the military and all other fields and became a women's revolution. These attacks are especially developed to target leading women. The struggle for women's freedom is the freedom of society, its foundation. Comrade Sosin Bîrhat, comrade Ronahi, Dilar, Mizgin and finally Jiyan, comrade Roj, comrade Barîn, comrade Hebun, comrade Hevrin and many other comrades who took part in the beginning of the Rojava revolution, in the social spheres and were in the military, they have especially been targeted. The initiative that is being created in our regions is basically an example for the whole region and the world. Because of that, the Turkish state does not tolerate it."

Ahmed pointed out that these attacks will not be able to force them to take a step back and said: “With these attacks, the Turkish state wishes to convey this message: `you will not put up a struggle, you will not carry out a struggle for your freedom, do not insist on this. You will act according to this or else you do not have the right to live`. Our message against this is: We will strengthen our revolution. We will raise the struggle, especially as YPJ and women`s forces. No attack will be able to stop our determination or force us to take a step back. The promise we give to our martyrs, especially our recent martyrs, is that our strength and will, which is stronger than ever, will be determined in the future struggle as well.”

`FOR EACH TIME A TERRORIST COMMANDER IS KILLED, THE ANGER OF THE OCCUPATION INCREASES`

Ahmed pointed out that that with these attacks, the Turkish state wants to hinder the struggle and fight against ISIS and its mercenary gangs and said: “ For each attack against commanding ISIS terrorists, the anger of the Turkish state increases and in turn, they increase their attacks. The targeting of our comrades is related to this issue. With these attacks, the Turkish state wishes to avenge the terrorists. They make their connection to the terrorists very obvious.”

After the martyrdom of the 3 leadign women, the International Coalition came with a message of condolance. Ahmed saw a flaw with this statement and said: “ The International Coalition is comprised of more than 50 countries. They still say the struggle against ISIS is important and that ISIS still poses a real threat. The attack on the Hassakeh prison shows to the whole world that ISIS still poses a real threat and that they still attempt to reorganize. They still pose a very serious threat to the world. At a time like this, when we can raise the struggle, primarily to protect our territories, the Turkish state is intensifying its attacks. Due to this, a strong response against the attacks by the Turkish state is necessary. In itself, messages of condolences and statements saying that we are still together in this and for us to increase our common struggle,  is not enough”

“The international coalition didn`t come here only to protect the people of this region, but also to protect the whole world.” With these words, Ahmed reminded the International Coalition of its responsibilities and continued: “This is the responsibility of those forces carrying out this struggle and protecting our people, because there are threats against our very existance and against our people. The attacks by the Turkish state against our region, is not only attacks against our region and military forces, it is an attack on all countries. These dirty methods of the Turkish state is a threat to the whole world.”

Ahmed continued:” What are the attacks our comrades have carried out against the Turkish state?? Prove it and document it! Let all investigate this! It is said that we are together in this struggle. Statements of condemnation is not going to stop the Turkish state`s attacks. If this struggle put up here is the world's struggle, then we must take care of it together and counter the current danger."

`A NEW PERIOD HAS STARTED`

Ahmed stated that with the martyrdom of the 3 vanguards, a new period has started and said: “The AKP/MHP has as a result of their crises, resorted to every thinkable dirty method. The latest attacks, also the attack in Zakho makes this very evident. On the 10th anniversary of the revolution, we have entered a new period which is able to protect and defend the revolution. The martyrdom of our 3 comrades is related to this process. In order for us to protect and keep our revolution safe, our people and military forces must increase and strengthen their struggle”

Regarding the lates threats and attacks against the region, Ahmed continued: “ We will thwart all those plans and attacks. We are more ready than ever before. The dream of those comrades is to liberate the occupied territories. We renew our promise to the martyrs, the families of the martyrs and the entire people for the liberation of the occupied regions and thwarting the enemy`s plans. Just as Jiyan, Roj and Barin, we will all take part in this. There are thousands of people to take their places. Adopt the sucessfull methods of comandship of these comrades. With this spirit, we will make the 11th year of the revolution into the year of victory, freedom and defense”

`WE WILL TAKE REVENGE AND LIFT THE REVOLUTION TO SUCCESS`

Newroz Ahmed concluded:” We will avenge those comrades. With the strenghtening of our unity, we will be able to thwart any new attacks and to liberate our regions. We will do whatever is needed from us. We will lift this revolution towards succcess. It is our duty to complete the struggle of those comrades which was displayed with such a level of morale and spirit of sacrifice inn all stages of their works.”
