​​​​​​​Tomorrow... First forum for women's revolution in the Mid-east will be held in Qamishlo

At the request of Kongra Star; Seven institutions, organizations, unions and women's councils in north and east Syria are preparing for the tenth anniversary of the July 19 revolution; To hold the first forum of the women's revolution in the north and east of Syria at the level of the Middle East.

The women's institutions and organizations that organize the forum are: Kongra Star, the Women's Council in North and East Syria, the Syrian Women's Council, the Jineolojî Foundation, the Syriac Women's Union, the Zenobia Women's Gathering, and the Women's Protection Units (YPJ).

According to the Preparatory Committee, the forum will be held in the hall of Rojava University in Qamishlo, for two consecutive days (22 and 23 July).

In this context, the coordination member of the Women's Council in North and East Syria and a member of the Preparatory Committee for the Women's Revolution Forum, Abeer Hassaf, spoke to ANHA’s agency.

Abeer Hassaf commented on the details of the forum, saying: "It will start on the 22nd of July and conclude on the 23rd of the same month with a set of outputs. Four points will be discussed in each session: the role of women in the revolution, women's achievements, assessment of the status of women before and after the revolution, organizing women and what they should do in the future.

Abeer revealed the participation of representatives of the Kurdish, Arab, Syriac component, and of women in the Middle East in the forum, and said: "On the first day of the forum, each representative will talk about her work and activities and the changes and transformations that took place during the ten years of the revolution. While the second day of the forum will include the establishment of a panel discussion and meeting to discuss four issues related to the political, legal, economic and social fields.

And she continued, "By holding this forum, we seek to build a relationship of association between women in the Middle East. Its foundation has been established since last year through a special conference in Beirut."

It is noteworthy that women's organizations held in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on the 30th of July last year, the second conference for women in the Middle East and North Africa.

Abeer Hassaf also referred to the participation of many women figures from the Middle East in the forum via the Internet, and said: "It was planned to personally participate women from Lebanon, but unfortunately they have not been able to attend so far due to the difficulty of travel, but some women from Syria will participate."

Abeer Hassaf explained that there will be a participation of women from Başûr Kurdistan, Iraq, Tunisia and Morocco, via the Internet.

She concluded her speech by saying: "In this way, as women of the region, we share our progress and achievements with the countries of the world and benefit from their evaluations."
