Member of the Preparatory Committee for the Kurdish-Lebanese Dialogue Conference, and the representative of the Autonomous Administration in Lebanon, Abdul Salam Ahmed, said that "this conference is being held in difficult circumstances that the region is going through and international conflicts, and that the unstable region may lead to dramatic changes, and these changes have harmed the two Arab-Kurdish peoples."

Abdul Salam Ahmed added to ANHA’s agency on the sidelines of the conference held in Beirut yesterday, "There are historical relations and also a common interest between the Arab and Kurdish peoples in this region, and the fact that the Kurds find depth and extension in the Arab world."

He stressed that the Arabs should have a role in doing justice to the Kurdish cause and supporting the Kurdish people who are being subjected today to Turkish aggression, "This enemy that does not target only the Kurdish people, but also targets the Arabs, it is known that Turkey, led by Erdogan, wants to return once again to the leadership of the Ottoman Caliphate, The Arab world is part of the Ottoman Empire.

The representative of the Autonomous Administration in Lebanon, Abdul al-Salam Ahmed, said that these views, of course, are also a message and a form of awareness, to inform the Arab street about the Kurds, and to drive away the wrong thought about the Kurds that they are “a second Israel.” Unfortunately, many talk about this aspect, and the Kurdish People has pioneer role throughout the Arab-Islamic history.

Ahmed concluded his speech to our agency, by saying: "The Kurds played the role of a barricade by responding to the invasions that targeted the Arab world, and targeted the Islamic peoples in this region, and that the Kurds were the ones who confronted the Crusades that attacked the region, as well as the hordes of the Mongols and Tatars, and they were always the barricade."

The conference aimed to protect and develop the common cultural, democratic, social and political values of the peoples of the region, stressing the need to strengthen the cultural dialogue rooted throughout history among the peoples, identities, cultures and beliefs that exist mainly in Lebanon, and recommended the formation of a committee of elite male and female intellectuals for this purpose.
