TEV-DEM congratulates the Yazidis on Red Wednesday

TEV-DEM issued a congratulatory telegram on the occasion of Red Wednesday, "New Year's Day for Yazidi Kurds," and the telegram stated:

"On the occasion of Red Wednesday, we extend our warmest congratulations and blessings to our Kurdish people in general and Yazidis in particular, led by leader Abdullah Ocalan, who, through his modern philosophy, was able to revive the essential spirit of the culture and history of this ancient Yazidi religion and give it a natural status among the Kurdish community in general, we also congratulates all the families of the martyrs and all the fighters on the battlefronts, Guerilla Forces, Free Women's Units - Star, People's and Women's Protection Units, Shengal Resistance Units and Syria Democratic Forces, who were among the first resisters and defenders of protecting the Yazidi Kurds against ISIS terrorist attacks ."

Red Wednesday, comes at the beginning of eastern April, and the month of April is considered one of the holiest months of the year, as the beginning of the formation of the life of all living creatures and the rebirth and renewal of life.

Red Wednesday has great historical meanings and is sacred, religiously and nationally, and it represents mutual respect and acceptance of the other on the principle of equality, justice and the core values of peace and coexistence among all components of Mesopotamia in peace and harmony, as in Kurdistan and the experience of north and east Syria.

And at a time when the peoples of the region are celebrating Red Wednesday this year, the resistant Yazidi community in Shengal is still facing conspiracies and agreements by Turkey and in cooperation with Kurdistan Democratic Party and Iraqi government, against the will of our Yazidi community, by building a concrete wall to eliminate their resistance and gains, strike the will of Yazidi community, end their presence in Shengal and the whole of Kurdistan and the region, and separate them from the will of NE Syria.

We in Democratic Society Movement TEV-DEM, and on this occasion, congratulate all the peoples of the region, with all their religions, beliefs and cultures, led by Yazidi Kurds, and we congratulate them on this authentic historical feast. And we call on all Kurdish political and national forces in general and all human rights and civil organizations to protect the will and gains of Yazidis in Shengal and to put an end to the policy of massacres, and Iraqi forces' attack on Asayish Yezidkhan yesterday puts Yezidi community in the danger of genocide.
