Darar: Sheikh Maqsoud is under siege by regime, and everyone is silent like graves

In conjunction with the siege imposed by Damascus government on Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo, co-chair of Syria Democratic Council, Riad Darar, mentioned the bombing of neighborhood by Turkish mercenaries, and criticized the silence of Syrians regarding what the neighborhood is being subjected to.

Co-chair of Syria Democratic Council, Riad Drar, said in a Facebook post that "Sheikh Maqsoud is a pure spot in Syrian homeland."

Darar said that "on this day, 9 years ago, the neighborhood was bombarded with shells of ethnic hatred and with chemical rockets from the racist vicious factions... Today, the regime's elements are surrounded it and flour and fuel are prevented from them... and everyone is silent as graves!!".

Fourth Division of Damascus government forces imposed a siege on Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafia neighborhoods in Aleppo city, which intensified starting on 13th of last March, leading to a complete interruption of flour and bread for 200,000 residents of the 2 neighborhoods.

From the end of 2012 to 2016, Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood was a target of continuous attacks by mercenary groups affiliated with Turkey, as well as Damascus government forces.

The neighborhood was bombed with chemical weapons 3 times by Turkish occupation mercenaries in 2016, the first on March 8, the second on April 7, and the third on April 8 of the same year.
