AANES launches a project to install prosthetics

As a result of the bombing of the region by the Turkish occupation state, the cases of amputations of children's limbs increased in the Euphrates region. For its part, the Autonomous Administration launched a project to install prosthetic limbs after a study conducted by the Social Affairs and Labor Body showed an increase in the number of children with amputees.

In a statement to ANHA’s agency about this project, the vice - co chairmanship of the Social Affairs and Labor Body in the Euphrates region, Morrow Hussein, indicated that as a result of the continuous bombing of the region by the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries with heavy weapons, there were many cases of amputation of limbs among citizens, especially children, as a result of the severe injuries they suffered during the bombing, he said, "We decided to help these children to be able to move again, so we announced a project to install prosthetic limbs for them."

He added, "The first step that we started with is to do physical therapy for the child, Abdo Mustafa Hanifi, who lost his leg as a result of the Turkish artillery shelling that targeted the village of Qara Mogh on January 9 of this year, and now we are preparing for the installation of a prosthetic leg for him weeks later."

At the end of his speech, Moro appealed to humanitarian organizations to fulfill their duty towards these children, and to support the Social Affairs and Labor Body to expand the scope of its work and the humanitarian project it launched.

According to the latest statistics of the Social Affairs and Labor Body, more than 20 children in the Euphrates region need prosthetic limbs.
