 Sophistication in committing crimes has become a habit that characterizes the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries against the remaining indigenous people in their homes. The demographic change, killing and kidnapping of citizens is a good example of what the Turkish occupation state has committed against more than 350 thousand citizens.

 According to the Human Rights Organization Afrin - Syria, the proportion of Kurds decreased from about 95 percent before the Turkish occupation to about 25 percent of the total population after the Turkish occupation.

 It tells of an Afrin family that was unable to leave Afrin after its occupation by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries in March 2018, until four years after the occupation of the area, the situation of the Kurds in the canton.

 Citizen (HK) and citizen (JH) are a couple who left Afrin a few days ago. They refused to disclose their identity because there are relatives in Afrin. They tell our agency part of the crimes of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against the people, as well as the harassment they were receiving during their stay in their “large” village.  affiliated to the center of the occupied city of Afrin.

 (HK) says that her husband was wounded while leaving the village, heading towards the city center to get out like the rest of the people from the area on the 18th of March 2018, but the mercenaries shot him five times from the motorcycle in the foot.

 'If you don't pay, we will kill you'

 She added, "The mercenaries initially forced us to stay in the area, and as a result of my husband's injury in his foot and transferring him to a hospital in Turkey, we had to stay in our village until his health condition stabilized."

 (HK) spoke about the mercenaries' entry into the villages after occupying the area, saying, "As they entered our village, they raided all the village's houses and took the people out of their homes and randomly kidnapped the people.  They said if you don't pay, we will kill you."

 The female citizen says that the mercenaries who are stationed in their village are from the Al-Hamza faction led by the mercenary (Moataz Abdullah), noting that the mercenaries were oppressing the people within the village and looting all the property of the villagers.

 (HK) indicated that after her husband's health condition stabilized, they came from Turkey to a village, and he was immediately kidnapped by the mercenaries of the so-called Hamza.

 'I could not recognize him after his facial features were distorted'

 In her speech, she noted, "After my husband was kidnapped, the worst forms of torture were practiced against him, I could not recognize him. The way they released him was by throwing him into the plains near the center of Afrin city, to be found later by citizens who told us that he had been thrown, where his condition was very, very critical, and we immediately rushed to take him to the city’s hospitals.”

 (HK) indicates that the mercenaries were raiding their house for no reason, stealing its contents while they did not dare to stand in their way, indicating that they had taken over the house of the citizen (Radwan Rahim Hanan), so the latter complained about them, so they killed him while heading towards his field. They demanded  his relatives a ransom to deliver his body to them. Even more than that, they cut down about 400 perennial olive trees.

 (HK) confirmed that the mercenaries were assuring them that they had come to wreak havoc and destruction in their land because, in response, "they cut down all the forest trees adjacent to our (large) village and cut down olive trees belonging to the people of the village, in addition to destroying the village shrine."

 Regarding the harassment and violations that women were subjected to in general in the village, (HK) indicated that the mercenaries used to beat and kidnap the women during raiding houses, indicating that the mercenaries had kidnapped the former co-chair of the village commune, where she was tortured;  They also imposed veils and long clothing on women, all these harassments in order to get us out of our homes.”

 The citizen (JH) told our agency his story, saying, "I did not know that the mercenaries entered the village of Marta, and when I passed by a motorbike, a group of mercenaries ordered me to stand. I did not respond to them, so they fired at me and I was shot in the foot, then they transferred me to the hospital until I recovered." 

 He continued, "When I arrived in the village, a group of Hamzah mercenaries kidnapped me on charges of dealing with the Autonomous Administration. They took me to a prison on the road to Teranda village, which is in the center of Afrin city, and then they took me to the Saraya prison located in the city center;  before them, they were accusing us of false accusations and they were taking large sums of money in exchange for our release, they killed my cousin, took over his house and cut down his trees.”
