Sheikh Baki: PDK is afraid to admit that the path to a solution is dialogue

The KDP continues its hostile practices against the Kurdish people and continues its cooperation with the occupying Turkish state at all levels.

On this issue, the Secretary-General of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party, Jamal Sheikh Baki, spoke to ANHA’s agency. He said, "Despite the many appeals by the people, political forces and social figures of the Kurdistan Democratic Party to review its hostile policy for the benefit of the Kurdish people, its representatives adhere more to their policies."

Sheikh Baki stressed that establishing relations for the benefit of the people is a legitimate thing. He said, "But these relations should not be based on the interests of the Kurdish people and other parts of Kurdistan, and it is not possible to establish relations with the enemies of the Kurdish people. We (PDK) have always warned us not to fall into this trap."

The KDP cannot say no to Turkey

Sheikh Baki mentioned Erdogan’s position when the referendum was held in (Southern Kurdistan) and said: “He wanted to confirm that everything is in his hands, at a time when they put all their gains in Erdogan’s hands. It came to the point that no official could refuse Erdogan’s request. Everything became constructive. On his command, and an example of this is the situation in the region at the moment.”

Jamal Sheikh Baki stressed that there are no interests for the Kurdish people from fighting the Peshmerga (PDK) and Roj mercenaries against Guerrilla (HPG) and said: "Their goal in this war is to impose a siege on the legitimate defense areas, and all this is in the interest of the Turkish state, which has always planned for this".

Jamal Sheikh Baki also added: "It is clear that (PDK) is dealing with this crisis based on family interests. The Turkish state imposes these practices on (PDK) in order to achieve its agendas, and on the other hand, the Turkish state seeks to create obstacles for Rojava by exploiting (PDK), for example, closing the Semalka crossing, then does closing the borders serve the interest of the people? No... They seek to tighten the siege on Rojava."

Divide peoples by building walls

Jamal Sheikh Baki stressed the tripartite agreement between the occupying Turkish state, the Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Democratic Party. He said, "We realized that the goal of the tripartite agreement between Erdogan, Al-Kazemi and (PDK), which provides for building a wall between Shengal and Rojava, is to confront relations between peoples and prevent their solidarity together. All these schemes originate from the occupying Turkish state and the enemies of the Kurdish people, and a recent example of this is Iran's missile attack on Hewler as a result of the differences between the ruling countries in the region."

In his speech, Sheikh Baki also stressed the position of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, which has always appealed to the Kurdistan Democratic Party for dialogue. He said, "Why does the (PDK) not respond to these appeals? In fact, the (PDK) is afraid to admit that the path to a solution is dialogue. We find out how they send the Rojava Kurds to fight the Rojava Kurds within the ranks of the HPG, and the results of these actions will be reflected in Rojava.", because the families of Rojava militants are in Rojava. This game has many dangers."

Sheikh Baki indicated that the occupying Turkish state carried out large-scale attacks against the legitimate defense areas, but did not win in any of them. Sheikh Baki added: "After its defeat, the Turkish state seeks to create a fraternal war between the Kurdish people, because if any Kurdish party is defeated, it will be victory for the Turkish state.

Sheikh Baki continued: "The Kurdistan freedom movement is a guide to continuing the path of freedom for the Kurdish people. There are nearly 40 million people who support this movement, and this movement will not end with a war of missiles because there is no end for an entire people."

The Secretary-General of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party, Jamal Sheikh Baki concluded his speech by saying: "The Kurds who work with the Turkish state and who support its occupation of Afrin are the Kurds who love the Turkish state."
