Association for DTHP: Turkey takes advantage of global situation to attack minorities

 This came through a statement issued by the Association for the Defense of Threatened Peoples regarding the increase in the Turkish occupation’s drone attacks on northern and eastern Syria and the massacres of its people. The association said in this regard:

 "Once again, the Turkish marches launched an air attack last weekend on the Kurdish areas in northeastern Syria, targeting a car, killing one person and wounding two others, including the region's beloved poet Farhad Mardi. In the same context, the Turkish drones opened  Yesterday night, Sunday, its craters hit the area, injuring a Syriac Christian member of the Syrian Democratic Forces.

 While the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are fighting the so-called "Islamic State" in Syria, the Turkish army is intensifying its attacks on minorities in Syria, taking advantage of the world's preoccupation with the Ukrainian war, as the Russian army allows the Turkish president to do whatever he wants.  At the same time, NATO relies in particular on Turkey. In this regard, Dr. Kemal Seydou, a Middle East expert at the Association for the Defense of Threatened Peoples, explains: “The silence of the German government and NATO towards the repeated attacks against ethnic and religious minorities in Syria, which violate international law, will make them lose their credibility in the region."

 According to Kurdish sources, the raids of the Turkish drones on the area during the past two years have killed or injured hundreds of civilians, including women and children.  The parties concerned and controlling the Syrian airspace, namely the United States of America and Russia, do not criticize these attacks, which target Kurds, Christians, and Yazidis, in addition to Alawites and other minorities.  "In parallel, the Turkish President Erdogan's regime is exploiting Putin's aggressive war against Ukraine to achieve its imperialist goals," Seydou continues.

 "While the German government and NATO rightly criticize China's rulers for providing support to Putin, they continue to remain silent about the behavior of Turkish ruler Erdogan, who shares China's refusal to support any Western sanctions against Putin," he adds.  Human rights violations and crimes today, he will accept genocide tomorrow, as instead of clarifying its position on the crimes committed by its partner, the German government is trying to criminalize protests against Turkey’s aggressive war.”

  Sidou concluded his statement by saying: "The German judiciary is prosecuting the Kurds and supporters of the Kurdish cause in Germany under the pretext of violating the ban imposed on the PKK associations, which was imposed in 1993 and which is outdated and is considered as a sword wielding over the heads of the Kurdish, Yazidi, Alawi and Christian minorities who have suffered wars, persecution and displacement from  Before Turkey and the Islamic militias. These practices are widely rejected by the victims and should not be continued."
