Tal Abyad Military Council: We are keen to remove remnants of Turkish bombing

 The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue to bombard the areas located on the contact lines from the north and east of Syria in the western countryside of Girê Spi / Tal Abyad and Ain Issa district, where dozens of Turkish shells rain daily on these countryside, causing human and material damage to the properties of the people.

 The damage in these areas is not limited to direct bombardment only, as there are many of these shells that do not explode at the moment of their fall in the middle of the populated villages, and the danger and fear of exploding at any moment persist, and their victims are often children who are not aware of their danger.

 Dozens of citizens, including women and children, were victims of these shells, as in the village of Al-Ahmar (20 km west of Ain Issa), where one of the Turkish shells caused the death of two children (Mustafa and Uday Al-Ahmad) and the loss of two other children with their limbs, “the feet”, which are Muayyad Al-Ali and Uday Ismail.  In addition to the martyrdom of the 7-year-old child, Hatem Al-Zaidan, while grazing sheep on the outskirts of Ain Issa district.

 In addition to its tasks in repelling the attacks that the district is exposed to, the Tel Abyad Military Council is working to remove the remnants of these shells, in order to ensure the safety of citizens by going to the place of bombing directly or through reports from the people.

 In this regard, the spokesman for the Tal Abyad Military Council, Wissam al-Omar, explained that they were able to remove hundreds of shells that fell in the midst of the citizens’ villages and their outskirts in the areas of contact lines in the villages of Al-Fatisa, Al-Debs, the outskirts of Ain Issa district, Al-Khalidiya, Al-Arida and other villages.  .

 Wissam Al-Omar noted in a statement to our agency that during their work to remove these shells, they face several risks, the most important of which is the targeting of their engineering teams by the snipers of the Turkish occupier and its mercenaries if they go to the place of bombing, which hinders their work to remove some of them.

 Al-Omar affirmed that they are keen on the safety of the people by removing the remnants of these missiles, despite the dangers.

 The spokesman for the Tal Abyad Military Council called on the international community and Russia, the "guarantor", to take a strict stance regarding the Turkish bombing of the inhabited villages in the countryside of Girê Spî and Ain Issa district, in order to avoid the loss of more lives as a result of these shells.

 Since the occupation by Turkey and its mercenaries of Gire Spi canton and its countryside on October 9, 2019, our agency has documented the death and injury of 58 citizens, including women and children, as a result of Turkish shells raining down on their villages on a daily basis.
