​​​​​​​TEV-DEM congratulates on Ocalan's birth and calls for his immediate release

On the occasion of the 4th of April, the birth of the leader Ocalan, the Democratic Society Movement issued a statement to the public opinion in which it said:

"At the outset, we congratulate the general Kurdish people, all components of the north and east of Syria and all humanity on the birth of leader Abdullah Ocalan, who marks the fourth of April, to live with him, on the anniversary of his 73rd birthday, a life full of national values and revolutionary and moral principles dedicated to restoring the spirit of democratic societal cultures in the region and to uniting them on the foundations of the brotherhood of peoples and the common standards of coexistence to establish creative humanity. Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been a prisoner for the will of free societies for more than 23 years and has spent in the most difficult conditions in the Imrali Island Prison from deprivation, political and illegal isolation and the total absence of international human rights organizations involved in the affairs of political detainees.

Leader “APO’ has turned Imrali Prison to the source of resistance, struggle and creativity in order to build a philosophy of free community life by issuing numerous pleadings that include the research and history of mankind over 5,000 years ago and to the present day with a view to achieving the optimal solution to all the outstanding problems that our societies and our world face to face with the struggle for power and the role of States that dominate the will of communal cultures in the region.

The fourth of April was the birth of a new history of the will of all peoples and components of the Middle East in the centenary of the modern era, the birth of the philosophy of building a free human life, the attainment of a democratic, ethical and sexually liberal society based on the principle of equality and social justice, the philosophy of freeing society from the remnants and accumulation of thousands of years of authoritarian masculine mentality, and the extent to which the revolution of the will of peoples in north and east Syria has affected societies.

The birth of leader Abdallah Ocalan on April 4th comes in the holiest month of the year, where nature is decorated with its beauty. And the leader Ocalan is known for his love and protection of nature, man and the environment and the love of trees and their cultivation, and this is the philosophy of nature and life in itself.

We, TEV-DEM calls upon all national movements, political forces and human rights organizations, including civil society organizations, immediately act to demand the release of leader Abdullah Ocalan and all those in detention. Because the Turkish fascist state practices the most egregious kind of political and psychological torture and prohibits family visits. Because of its repeated rejection of legal meetings with his lawyer for more than two years, we do not have any information on his public and health status, especially as we are concerned.

We also affirm that leader “APO” represents today the will of peoples to fight for freedom and democracy. "
