Satam Faraj: Syrian government intransigence prolongs crisis

Co-chair of the Civil Society associations in the region of Tabqa Satam Faraj said intransigence from the part of the Syrian government prolongs the crisis in the country and impedes any solution to the crisis that sweeps the country.

In a statement made to ANHA Co-chair of the Civil Society associations in the region of Tabqa Satam Faraj laid much stress on the necessity of adopting the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria as a model for the whole of Syria that is ravaged by the ten years crisis.

Satam said 'the policy adopted by the Syrian president Bashar Assad is not different from that of his predecessor Hafez Assad that took power illegally as the constitution was amended to suit him. At that time no political change was introduced but the security and proceeded and the best example to that is the Qamishlo revolt of 2004 and the arrest of signatories to Damascus Declaration of the Democratic Change 2005''.

Faraj said the mentality adopted by the Syrian regime is a chauvinist one that rejects dialogue and peaceful solutions and resorts to military options. It rejected many resolutions passed by the Arab League and UN Security Council.

Faraj said the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria is a best model that suits the country as a whole as it is based on decentralization and democracy and democratic nation idea. Faraj made it clear Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has been rejected because it runs contradictory to all authoritarian regimes.

Faraj went on to say the best solution for all Syrians is to lay down arms and resort to dialogue that is adopted by Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. The Syrian people should determine it fate.

Faraj said Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria introduced something new to Syria and it gained success widely and brought peace and security to the country. For this it (Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria)should be taken into account when considering any solution to the Syrian crisis. this idea must be applied to all Syrian territories based on decentralized and democratic model to bring peace and stability to the region''.

At the end of his speech Co-chair of the Civil Society associations in the region of Tabqa called on all active powers to put pressure on the Damascus government to give to peoples demands and adopt dialogue to end the crisis in the country.
