​​​​​​​ Iran's missile messages -  Shukri Gedek

 Iran officially claimed responsibility for the missile attack on Erbil.  The Iranian army (Pasdaran) carried out the attack with ballistic missiles.  There are important messages of this attack.  Although the official Iranian news agency reported that it targeted "Israel's strategic objectives", the main objectives were different.  This attack is an attack on the Hawler administration.  It targeted Kurdistan TV and its studio, as well as the home of the head of the "Car Group" Baz Karimi, who works in the energy sector.

 Turkey has effectively occupied Southern Kurdistan.  Alliances with the KDP under the cover of fighting the PKK caused many problems.  Its attacks on the legitimate defense zones, Makhmour and Shingal are also attacks on Iraq's sovereign rights.  The regions of southern Kurdistan were not only opened to the Turkish state, but also became a major base for the United States and Israel.  Relations between Turkey and the administration of Southern Kurdistan and the presence of the United States and Israel in the region were the reasons for the missile attack.

 In the international oil and gas market, KAR Group works on marketing the oil and gas of the South Kurdistan region to international markets.  Turkey and the administration of Southern Kurdistan had signed agreements to open Southern Kurdistan to world markets, which are said to have very rich reserves of oil and gas.  Targeting this institution allows for Iranian gas to be the alternative, which is a message to Turkey and the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

 Turkey has put the KDP under its wing.  Just as the Barzani family needs Turkey in order to supply southern Kurdistan's gas and oil through Turkey to global markets, Turkey also benefits greatly from this trade.  Accordingly, the relations between Turkey and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, as well as the development of the relations of the Kurdistan Democratic Party with both Israel and the United States of America, reached a stage that disturbed Iran.  The KDP and the Barzani family pose great dangers to the region.  The interests of the Barzanis, which lead to the targeting of southern Kurdistan, are detrimental to the national interests of the Kurdish people.

 The other issue is that Turkey, through the KDP candidate, interfered in the Iraqi presidential elections and is trying to gain a prominent place in Iraqi politics.  Turkey, like Iran, wants to be present in the field.  Through the ambitions of the Milli Charter, it seeks to expand its presence in Iraq and compete with Iran.  Therefore, the cancellation of the candidacy of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's candidate for the presidency of the Republic, as well as the decision of the Iraqi Federal Court on oil imports to the administration of Southern Kurdistan, are considered a result of Iranian interference.

 Since the Barzani family has become completely dependent on Turkey, its economic, political, military, and oil and gas allies are major problems for both Iraq and Iran.

 The large presence of the United States and Israel in the region, which has reached the gates of Iran, reminds us of what is happening in Ukraine.  Iran is besieged in Iraq by the United States and Israel, especially in Başûr, so it is impossible for Iran not to show this reaction.  Just as Ukraine poses a threat to Russia, Iraq and Bashur poses a threat to Iran.

 The assassination of Qassem Soleimani and the attacks on the Popular Mobilization Forces show that the United States and Israel are in a position to conduct operations against Iran inside Iraq.  Retaliatory attacks by Iran and its allies have at times heightened tensions in Iraq.  Thus, the US transfer of its military presence in Iraq to Başûr constitutes a threat to Başûr Kurdistan.  The Barzani family's network of relations ignores the dangers to national interests, as it turns only to aid coming from abroad.

 The attacks will not stop until the policies that made Hawler the reason for the missile attacks are analyzed and understood.  Iran's reactions to a missile attack on Hawler indicate the level of danger.  The message of these attacks and their regional impact must be clearly seen and read.

 When Israel studied the war in Ukraine, it realized that there was a danger to it, and thus was vigilant.  Israel says that "the war in Ukraine brought Russia, Syria and Iran closer together, and this poses a threat to Israel."  That is why it attacks and hits Iranian targets in Syria.  Hawler is the most suitable place for Iran to launch counterattacks.  The policy of managing the region makes Erbil a target for Iran.

 Foreign policies and bilateral agreements that would harm the Kurdish people and national interests should be abandoned, and foreign forces should not be supported.  Otherwise, such attacks will continue.
