Kongra Star denounce Afrin occupation by Turkey

In a statement released by the Kongra Star Coordination on the fourth annual anniversary of the occupation of the Afrin Canton by Turkish occupation forces and their affiliated mercenary groups:

The statement runs:

''the Turkish state violates the international standards under the nose of the whole world, and it has not given a stance. Afrin used to be a safe haven for all Syrian Internally displace persons prior to its occupation. The Turkish occupation used every species of weapons in its attack on the armless civilians.

In spite of the barbarity of the Turkish occupation state the Afrin people resisted for 58 days. Today the people of Afrin are struggling in the Shahba Canton under the demi daily shelling by the Turkish occupation state and its mercenary groups.

We denounce in the strongest terms the Turkish crimes and the international silence towards this crimes. Though all crimes are documented the international silence is keeping silent.

We call on the human rights associations and organizations to bear their responsibilities and to adopt a stance regarding the Turkish occupation and crimes in Afrin''.
