Mass pro-Afrin demonstration held in Qamishlo

On the fourth annual anniversary of the occupation by Turkish occupation army and its affiliated mercenary groups of the Afrin Canton on 18 March after 58 days of heroic and unprecedented resistance, today a demonstration was organized by Democratic Union Party, the PYD in the city of Qamishlo in which thousands of Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs  as well Afrin IDPs living in the city took part.

Demonstrators denounced the occupation by Turkey and its mercenary groups of the Afrin Canton four years ago.

Member of the Democratic Union Party Fairoshah Ramadan made a speech in which he said: the resistance put up in Afrin in the face of attacks of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries was historic, Turkey is a highly advanced country regarding the weapons it has and it could not enter Afrin but after 58 days''.

''the aim of the Turkish occupation state is to wipe out the Kurdish people from Afrin up to Derik. Imbibed with the spirit of Afrin we ought to protect our gains made and to increase fighting until liberating Afrin and all the occupied area'', PYD's said.
