Raqqa, Tabqa, Aleppo: March 12 uprising was the spark of freedom and democracy

On Saturday, the Democratic Civil Administration in Tabqa, the Zenobia Women’s Gathering in Tabqa, the Council of the Future Syria Party in Raqqa, the councils of the eastern countryside of Raqqa, and political parties in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo city, made separate statements on the 18th anniversary of the March 12 uprising, denouncing the efforts of  Damascus Government is creating a strife between the Kurds and Arabs, by exploiting a sporting event and causing quarrels between the fans of the Jihad teams from Qamishlo and the Fatwa from Deir ez-Zor.

Tabqa

Dozens of members of civil institutions and the Democratic Civil Administration in Tabqa gathered in front of its building, and held a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of the March 12 uprising, then made a statement that was delivered by the co-chair of the Executive Council in Tabqa, Mazloum Omar.

The statement said that the uprising erupted in 2004 in Qamishlo, Kobani and Afrin, up to the capital, Damascus, "after the horrific massacre committed by the regime's security forces, after creating chaos and rioting by its colleagues who came as fans of one of the sports teams."

The statement went on to narrate the course of the incident, saying: "Where they provoked the fans of the Jihad Club on the grounds of the Qamishlo stadium and abused the Kurds and their national symbols, in an attempt by the regime to ignite the fire of strife among the people of the same country, seeking to distract the people, and distracting attention from its tyranny and corruption.

Zenobia Women's Gathering: The March 12 uprising is the basic building block for the Freedom Revolution

Today, the Zenobia Women's Gathering office in Tabqa also made a statement to the public opinion, which was delivered by the administrator in the Training Committee, Magda Al-Karim.

The statement stressed that "the March 12 uprising was the basic building block for the freedom revolution that was launched after 7 years in Rojava, and it called for the same demands that hundreds of thousands of Kurdish militants raised in 2004, starting with freedom, democracy and achieving justice."

At the conclusion of the statement, the Zenobia Women's Gathering in Tabqa warned against "the attempts of the Damascus Government to restore sedition and sow division between the two peoples. its attempts to play on sectarian the last arrow in this battle to return to extending its influence and tyrannical authority."

Raqqa

In the same regard, dozens of council members of the Future Syria Party gathered in Raqqa in front of the council’s headquarters to make a statement, which was delivered by the council’s head, Hamidi al-Rudaini.

The statement stressed, "After all these years have passed, the normal situation has returned between the two peoples, after they joined hands together in the face of ISIS and not open the way for the systematic policies of the Baath "to divide and rule," which was fabricating hostility and conflicts between both the Kurds and the Arabs to prove that our Syrian people are in their unity. force, and their declaration of victory over ISIS is nothing but an insistence on creating a coexistence.”

The eastern countryside councils in Raqqa recall the March 12 uprising

In the same context, the councils, institutions, and people of the eastern countryside of Raqqa made a statement to the public opinion, which was delivered by the co-chair of the People’s Assembly in the town of al-Hos, Abdel Fattah al-Ali, in the center of the town of Karama.

The statement stated: "Today, we stand in remembrance of the events that occurred on March 12, 2004 in the city of Qamishlo, during the football match between the Fatwa and Jihad team, and the aim of which was to create an Arab-Kurdish strife between the people of the region and to strike the components together, to maintain a state of fear and panic. One of the security centers, as it had the largest role in suppressing the demonstrators, which led to the fall of dozens of Kurdish martyrs.

Aleppo

Today, the political parties in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo city issued a statement to remember the martyrs of the March 12, 2004 uprising, in front of the Democratic Union Party headquarters in the western part of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, which was attended by the political parties, councils and communes in the neighborhood, Kongra Star.

The statement was delivered by a member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party, Badran Hammo, and stated:

In the name of the political parties in Aleppo, where we remember the martyrs of the March 12, 2004 uprising, we bow in reverence to their pure souls and blood.

The March 12 uprising is an extension of Sheikh Saeed, Qazi Mohammad and Sayed Rida, and all the gains of these and other revolutions were represented in the popular revolutionary movement and crystallized in the July 19, 2012 revolution, which reduced all Kurdish revolutions throughout history and transcended the Kurdish concept to become a transnational revolutionary movement. March 12, was the result of the cumulative amount of the tyrannical junta of the chauvinistic Ba'ath regime.

We in the political parties in Aleppo denounce all those hostile practices that were and the continuous policies of excluding and denial, which did not and will not discourage the Kurds and the peoples of the region from continuing their struggle for their legitimate and democratic rights within a democratic, pluralistic, decentralized Syria and coexistence among the components and spectra of the exhausted Syrian people as a result of the mentality of tyranny and nationalism.

We also call on the international community, the United Nations, human rights organizations, the International Alliance and the Russian Federation to stand with the Syrian people in order to end the Syrian crisis and hold a Syrian national conference with the participation of all components and spectra of the Syrian people to build a democratic, pluralistic, decentralized Syria.

We also pledge to the martyrs of the March 12 uprising and all the martyrs of freedom to follow in their footsteps and raise the pace of our struggle to reach a free societal will.
