DAA in Jazirah Region: Damascus government still adheres to its repressive policies

 The administration in the Jazira region issued a statement to the public opinion on the 18th anniversary of the March 12 uprising (the Qamishlo uprising), which stated:

 "In the spirit of resistance to the hammer of the peoples, the 18th anniversary of the March 12 uprising (the Qamishlo uprising), which embodied the spirit of resistance and popular cohesion around its just cause of freedom and democracy, and the Kurdish people's obtaining their legitimate rights in the face of repressive and tyrannical policies and the massive attempts to deny its existence."

 The statement continued, "What happened in the city's stadium in the city of Qamishlo in 2004, is nothing but a continuation of the systematic chauvinistic mentality by the Baathist regime, which aimed to commit massacres against the Kurdish people and create sedition between the components of the region that unite the bonds of love and coexistence through the use of bullets by its security services against the large crowds who were at the stadium, to attend a football match between the Jihad and Al-Fatwa teams, which led to the death and injury of dozens of our sons and the pursuit of hundreds and their imprisonment.”

 The popular uprising in all regions of Rojava from Derek to Afrin and neighborhoods in Aleppo and the Sham, raising slogans no to injustice, tyranny and oppression, No to racist chauvinistic policies, Yes to freedom, justice and democracy Yes to the brotherhood of peoples.

 The statement added, "The spirit of the March 12 resistance, the July 19 revolution, was represented by the unity of the components of Rojava, northern and eastern Syria against tyranny, terrorism and occupation. As a result, the establishment of the Democratic Autonomous Administration came as a solution project to build a democratic Syria represented by the will, ambitions and rights of all components."

 With the Syrian crisis entering its twelfth year, the regime is still clinging to its mentality and repressive policies in the face of the aspirations and hopes of the Syrian people for a free and dignified life.

 The statement indicated, "The resistance and cohesion in northern and eastern Syria today in the face of occupation, terrorism and the regime's policies that target our democratic project and its will, which were embodied in the resistance of al-Hasakah with the Peoples' Hammer campaign, and the resistance and great sacrifices offered by the Syrian Democratic Forces, the security forces and the components of the region,  which led to the failure of the conspiracy whose goal was to undermine the will of our people by the enemies of the democratic self-administration, and it was a revival and continuity of the spirit of the Qamishlo uprising.

 The statement stressed, "We in the DAA remember the martyrs of the March 12 uprising and all the martyrs of freedom, and we condole all the families of the martyrs, stressing the continuation of our struggle until the aspirations of the martyrs and our people are fulfilled, the occupation and terrorism end, and the building of a democratic, pluralistic, decentralized Syria."
