To demand the removal of the PKK from the "terror list" in the European Union, Turkey and the United States of America, Kurdistan and dozens of cities around the world are witnessing the participation of the friends of the Kurdish people, various popular events.

 The Kurds before the PKK

We will not delve into reading the deep-rooted history of the Kurds and the extent of the cruelty of the genocides they are subjected to today, except to mention a saying of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, "How painful it is that the first ethnic identity is undergoing a horrific brutal cleansing."

In addition to the tragedy of the First and Second World Wars, and the genocide of the Armenians at the hands of the Ottomans, the Kurds had a large share of the physical extermination they were subjected to during the last century, which was parallel to the campaigns of cultural genocide against millions of Kurds, with the aim of ending the Kurdish existence.

It is not possible to describe all the Kurdish uprisings and movements during the twentieth century as a failure.  The way to preserve the Kurdish identity away from external interference.

The uprisings witnessed by Agri, Gojkeri, Dersim, the movement of Sheikh Mahmoud Barzanji and the declaration of the Republic of Mahabad led by Qazi Muhammad, collided with a violent war that claimed tens of thousands of lives in the context of malicious policies between the world powers at the time, led by Britain and the Soviet Union and regional powers, led by the Ottomans and their heir, the Turkish state.

Subsequently, the signs of melting the Kurdish community within the Arab, Turkish and Persian societies began through regional policies unanimously agreed upon by the ruling regimes that occupied Kurdistan since the seventies of the last century, such as the Arab belt by the Damascus government and the Turkish suppression of all Kurdish political movements and activities in Turkey, to political and social repressions for the Kurds in Iran and East Kurdistan.

PKK..the ideological and military struggle for the Kurdish people

The PKK, which was founded in the inferno of the conflicts inside Turkey, shocked the ruling regimes in Kurdistan, especially after its military operations on the Turkish political borders for the first time in 1984, starting a new phase towards getting the rights of the Kurdish people by force of arms.

The party has been active for more than 20 years inside the Syrian and Lebanese territories in camps that were a source of hundreds of Kurdish fighters who headed to the mountains of Kurdistan in Turkey and Iraq, and to engage in the war against the Turkish occupation, while the party exchanged relations with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Syrian government led by Hafez al-Assad, which was considered  itself a sponsor of socialist parties around the world at the time.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the PKK presented perspectives on the outstanding global crisis, issues and conflicts, in addition to resolving the Kurdish issue and the Middle East conflicts, and in particular the crisis and war in Syria.

While the PKK fighters participated in repelling the attacks of the Turkish-backed ISIS on various Kurdish areas in southern and western Kurdistan, especially saving the lives of thousands of Yazidis in Şengal, as well as Kirkuk and even the attack that targeted areas near Erbil, while the party fighters actively participated in breaking the fork of ISIS  In the fateful battle in kobani, protecting the world from the threat of global terrorism.

How to put label the PKK as terrorist!

It is not possible to comprehend the extent of the violence of the war waged by global and regional powers against the PKK and the Kurdish people, unless its plans are read in the region.  The KDP played that role, and the other Kurdish regions became Arab in Syria, Persian in Iran and Turkish in Turkey.

Some Swedish media and Turkish newspapers claimed, in an orchestrated game in 1986, that the PKK had assassinated Swedish Prime Minister olf Palme in the capital, Stockholm. He was  one of the most important European political figures who defended the rights of the Kurdish people, while the world powers got rid of  from this personality, the accusation was attached to the Kurdistan Workers Party, so that the leaders of the party in Europe were arrested;  Duran Kalkan and Ali Haidar Qaitan at the time.

Palme's assassination paved the way for the banning of the PKK in Europe and designating it on the terrorist list, opening the way for repressive practices against the Kurds, the party and the Kurdish people in Northern Kurdistan.

Meanwhile, the United States of America added the PKK to the list of terrorism on August 10, 1998, following a meeting that brought together officials from the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Washington, DC.

34 years later, the Swedish Public Prosecutor's Office officially announced that the killer of Swedish Prime Minister Palme was a Swedish named Stig Ankström, who died in 2000.

Why was the PKK included on the terrorist list?

In the Manifesto of Democratic Civilization “The Kurdish Issue,” the leader Abdullah Ocalan says, referring to the emergence of the PKK and the Western game in Kurdistan, “a similar white Kurdish entity was also established in connection with the PDK, in terms of their existence (for the sake of Israel’s security and the hegemonic interests of Western powers).  over the Middle East region, foremost of which is America and England.) They attached crucial importance to the creation of two similar forces between the Turks and the Kurds alike. It was an extremely rational policy, until the emergence of the PKK, which was spoiling this historical and current game for them at the same time.

The party also played a major role in preserving the Kurdish identity, as the party stated repeatedly that the Turkish goal is to eliminate the Kurds in general in the four parts without exception, as in 1993 witnessed the displacement of the Kurds from 4,000 villages in northern Kurdistan towards Iraq, forcibly and without  presenting any legal argument, while the Turkish occupation army destroyed 13 Kurdish cities in 2016, including the city of Nusaybin and the Cezira Botan, which received the largest share of destruction amid a media blackout.

The party has been waging an armed struggle for more than 37 years, and the Kurds in the four parts of Kurdistan obtained some of their rights as a result of this struggle, which evolved from a struggle in the mountains of Kurdistan to a social, political and military struggle in all Kurdish regions against the policy of extermination against them in the first major development at the level of  The Kurdish issue after a century of setbacks.

Attributing the name of terrorism to the PKK is legitimizing all genocides against the Kurds

If the struggle of the PKK and defending the existence of a people is considered terrorism, then how can the American invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam be described and the killing of tens of thousands there, how can one evaluate the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, the Turkish aggression against Syria and northern Iraq, and the western invasion of Africa and the looting of its resources and wealth.  Which put the Labor Party on the "terror list" and is practicing terrorism at the highest levels in the name of democracy.
