​​​​​​​The United States commends the efforts of SDF in thwarting ISIS attack on Al-Sina'a prison

This came during a statement issued by US National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, about Syria Democratic Forces' restoration of full control of Al-Sina'a Prison in Ghweran neighborhood of Hasaka city in Syria.

Sullivan said: "United States commends the Syria Democratic Forces, which, along with coalition forces, have completed their operations to restore full control of Hasaka prison in Syria."

He added in statement published by White House on Sunday on its website: "Thanks to the courage and determination of Syria Democratic Forces, many of whom paid sacrifice, and ISIS failed in its efforts to break the prison to reconstitute its ranks."

On January20, ISIS mercenaries launched an attack on Al-Sina'a prison, which contains 5,000 prisoners, to release them.

By Drawing attention to joint efforts to address the issue of ISIS prisoners, Sullivan said, "The brutality of ISIS's actions during this attack underscores why this group has been denied the ability to renew, and why states must work together to treat thousands of ISIS prisoners in inadequate detention facilities."

He confirmed that "ISIS still represents a global threat that requires a global solution." And he expressed that his country "remains committed to working with our partners in Iraq and north east Syria, to confront the threat of ISIS."
