On the anniversary of Kobani' liberation ..AANES: the liberation of Afrin, Sere-Kani and Girê Spî is a necessity

AANES issued a statement to the public opinion today, confirming that Kobani victory impeded Turkey's realization of its occupation and expansionist project.

The text of the statement reads:

After years of resistance and defeating ISIS militarily, it is trying by all means to take revenge and return, with regional support and with the satisfaction of some known parties on the Syrian arena; ISIS terrorist organization has turned into a great danger that was threatening Syria, the region and the whole world during the period when its power reached its peak. After it took control of large parts of Syria and Iraq, and declared the city of Raqqa the capital of his alleged caliphate, and now his danger lies in his cells and the cause of his prisoners and his families, and the extremist ideology.

 The resistance that happened in NES, where the area most controlled by ISIS, was not an ordinary resistance, the resistance contributed to protect Syria and the whole world from being under the threat of ISIS. Where the liberation of Kobani city on January26, 2015, was the beginning of the collapse of ISIS, then victories followed it after the resistance in Kobani turned into an epic, and the components of NES relied on it to defend their areas since the liberation of Kobani, leading to the end of ISIS militarily in Al-Baghouz on 23/3/2019.

Kobani chose Autonomous Administration project as a democratic experiment on January27, 2014, and this experiment was a mainstay in building the democratic project in Syria in general.

The days pass with many memories, including the passing of the seventh anniversary of the liberation of Kobani, January26, 2015, as well as the entry of Autonomous Administration into its seventh year in Kobani, we can't but remember these two occasions while remembering the heroism of Kobani and the sacrifices of its righteous martyrs, the sacrifices that determined the true path of the resistance in order to build the free democratic will of the peoples. These two occasions, Kobani's victory over terrorism and fascism with the project of Autonomous Administration, are considered an essential foundation in building a democratic Syria that represents all Syrians.

On the anniversary of these two occasions, we stress that the fascist Turkish state that supports terrorism and terrorists poses a danger, not only to our regions, but to all peoples that have made efforts to combat ISIS, and all peoples that seek to build the democracy.

That the victory that was achieved in Kobani is a legacy for the whole world and humanity, and an important achievement and gain, the resistance in Kobani contributed to hindered the Turkey's realization of its occupation and expansion project, which was based on the support of ISIS. Kobani and its resistance turned into a heroic epic that attracted global sympathy.

All this led to the transformation of the will in Kobani into a real point of hope for the defeat of ISIS on the ground; So the international coalition and the world later moved more, to declare November1 the International Day for Kobani as a result of the determination that shook the world by standing up to ISIS and its supporters.

And we stress that the continuation of this Turkish support for terrorism is also a danger to the gains made against ISIS, therefore everyone who wants this danger to end; it must take clear positions against Turkey and its practices, which, after occupying Serê kani (Ras al-Ain) and Gire Spi (Tal Abyad), restored morale and support to ISIS sleeper cells in the region.

At the end, we stress that the liberation of the areas occupied by Turkey, foremost of which are Afrin, Serê kani (Ras al-Ain) and Girê Spî (Tal Abyad), is a necessity and its importance equal to the importance with which Kobani was liberated, where the actual collapse of terrorism began.

We also appeal to all the components of our people to cohesion and follow the path of the resistance in Kobani, Afrin and all regions in north and east Syria; Because this historical inheritance is the most successful path towards achieving victory, reaching a democratic society, and achieving stability in all of Syria.
