​​​​​​​Intellectuals Union in Jazira calls upon international community to find radical solution of ISIS detainees

Intellectuals Union in Jazir region issued a statement to the public opinion, commenting on the recent events taking place in Geweran neighbourhood in al-Hasakah city, north and east of Syria, from the attacks of ISIS mercenary cells on Sina’a Prison, which houses 5,000 mercenaries, and an attempt to smuggle them out of the prison.

The text of the statement we received read:

"The barbarian attack by ISIS cells of what is known as ISIS on the Geweran neighbourhood on Sina’a Prison, which includes more than 5,000 ISIS global terrorists, has occurred in Hasakah city. It was not just the planning and execution of these cells, but also, depending on the scale of the attack and the follow-up to the offensive media channels of Turkish agents and the Syrian regime. The targeting of Turkish mercenaries the areas of Ain Issa and Tal Abyed and the ground attack on their villages under the cover of an intense Turkish bombardment in conjunction with the ISIS attack on Al-Hasakah; The intelligence scheme of these forces, supported by some regional and global Powers, is real. To deal a harsh blow to Democratic Autonomous Administration DAA and to revive ISIS in the region, and the elimination of the achievements of thousands of martyrs and the dream of freedom in Western Kurdistan.

We are the Intellectuals Union in Jazira, and while declaring our full support for the forces of honour and dignity (the Internal Security Forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces) in their response to the conspiracy, we call upon our people and all national forces to support their forces, whose best fighters provide martyrs and wounded for peace and freedom.

We condemn the silence of some Kurdish political forces and the hiding of their heads in the sand towards this above all targeted plot of the Kurdish presence itself.

We also call upon international forces and the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS to shoulder their responsibilities and find a lasting solution for ISIS detainees in AANES’ prisons, to return them to their countries or to try them in an international court on the territory of  Rojava and north eastern Syria, to provide military and political support for Democratic Autonomous-Administration DAA and to hold the Turkish regime accountable for its violations and direct support for terrorist forces and to bring it out of the occupied areas.

The conspiracy is dangerous, and the forces benefiting from ISIS are multiple, and the target is the experience of north eastern Syria, Rojava, and our people and political forces must unite in the face of all these dark forces.”
