Internal Security Forces: Our forces have completely besieged Ghweran neighborhood

General Command of Internal Security Forces in NES issued a statement on the recent developments in Ghweran neighborhood of Hasaka, which reads:

"A group of ISIS sleeper cells attempted to storm Al-Sina’a Prison in Ghweran neighborhood of Hasaka on Thursday night, January20, by detonating a car bomb in the vicinity of the prison, and infiltrating ISIS cells between the neighborhoods near the prison and attacking the security forces responsible for protecting the prison, in an attempt to for the prisoners to escape who carried out a disobedience inside the prison was accompanied by the explosion of the car."

The statement continued, "Our forces, with the support of Syrian Democratic Forces, worked to confront the attack, and captured a number of terrorists who carried out the attack, pursued some of them, that they hide within the neighborhoods surrounding the prison, and as a result 7 members of our forces were wounded and the member Khaled A'allawy was martyred, in addition to the martyrdom of 3 civilians who ISIS mercenaries killed them while they entered nearby neighborhoods to hide in them."

The statement stressed, "We in General Command of Internal Security Forces in NES telling our people that our forces have completely besieged Ghweran neighborhood, and are currently carrying out extensive sweeps operations until the arrest of these terrorists, and we pledge to our people that we will follow our martyrs and wounded path for the sake of establishing security and safety in all of our regions."
