​​​​​​​SDF Commander reveals Turkish forces-Mercenaries reinforce position on frontline

On 8 January Turkish occupation forces and its affiliated mercenary groups shelled a number of villages in eastern Kobane; Qere Mogh, Tal Hajib, Gultepe, Serzuri and Khane were all targeted in addition to the city center of Kobane other villages in western Gire Spi countryside were also targeted such as Jirn, Ahmedi, Huriye, Qezeli, Eridha, Zanobia, Sawan and Bir Ereb.

In the shelling a citizen in the village of Khane was martyred and 12 others injured including children in Qere Mogh and Gultepe as many houses were destroyed too.

On the issue, Baz Afrin, Member of the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the Gire Spi Canton was interviewed by ANHA. Baz says: '' the Turkish state targets civilian houses directly bringing them to destruction and it does target the M4, the main artery for peoples of the region''.

Baz noted the ''late military escalation in Syria is to cover its failure militarily and politically and to divert the people inside Turkey from the economic crisis and to gain the confidence of people to make success politically and militarilly''.

On the movements by mercenary group[s affiliated to Turkey on the frontlines in Gire Spi, the Syrian Democratic Forces commander indicated in addition to bringing in large number of soldiers and heavy weapons they tried may times to sneak into SDF regions but the later abort all their bids. Baz confirmed they afflicted many heavy losses on the mercenary groups in personnel and materiel and they foiled all their attempt to penetrate into their areas adjacent to the Aleppo-Hasaka strategically important highway known as the M4with the aim to occupy more lands for expansion.  

Baz Afrin said after all attempts by the Turkish occupation forces and its affiliated mercenary groups failed to the ground it resorted to target civilians directly and randomly '' Turkey is besieged from inside for this it targets randomly''.

At the end of his words SDF's confirmed the Syrian Democratic Forces are ready to defend land and people based on the right to self-defense, adding they are well trained aborting in the course of last two years all attempts of the Turkish occupation forces and its affiliated mercenary groups to advance on frontlines.
