​​​​​​​A detainee in a Turkish prison warns that their lives are in danger

Muhammad Sharif Aslan, who stayed in the same room with Widat Arkaman, who was martyred in mysterious circumstances, drew attention to the pressure and repression exercised against detainees in Tekirdax prison.

Widat Arkaman was martyred in prison on last December19, and his family believes that he was killed by the authorities who kidnapped his body to be buried with harassment of the Turkish police.

During a phone call that Muhammad Sharif Aslan had with his family, he told them that his life here is unsafe.

In this context, Rasem Aslan, the brother of political detainee Muhammad Sharif Aslan, stated that he was worried about his brother, and said: "My brother was arrested in 2011 in Kani Rashi of Gulok district, and various types of torture were practiced against him, he was taken to Gulok and Amed prison and later to Tekirdax prison, and imposed the most severe punishments against him.

He added, "Several days ago, he managed to contact us by phone, and told us that his friend, Widat, had not committed suicide, and told us that their lives in that prison are in danger."

Regarding Muhammad Aslan’s request from his family to get him out from prison, his brother Rasem Aslan said: "In an attempt to do something for him, we visited the Human Rights Association, and we told them about the pressures and oppression my brother is facing, and about our concern for his life there, and our fears that anything might happen to him, and about the pressures that the detainees are subjected to, and we told them about our need for their support."
