Expert: To eliminate ISIS, its supporters, especially Turkey, must be faced

 Since the beginning of December, ISIS mercenaries have launched attacks against the areas of Başûr Kurdistan, or what is known as the "disputed areas." Dozens of Peshmerga forces have lost their lives and dozens been wounded so far, in addition to a number of civilians.

According to the official of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in the Sarkaran district of Kirkuk, Ramadan Othman, told "Baghdad Today" on December 5, that ISIS mercenaries took over of the village of Lahiban, inhabited by 70 families, affiliated with the Dibis district, after burning their homes.  He confirmed that no security reinforcements had arrived from the Peshmerga or the Iraqi army.

 Munir Adib pointed out that ISIS mercenaries are exploiting the severe pressures on the residents of the disputed areas by their local governments, whether in Iraq or Syria, so they intensify their activities, and ISIS also exploits the pressures exerted by the Turkish occupier against northern and eastern Syria.

 Munir Adib believes that the ISIS mercenary organization has not ended, and said: "It is true that former US President Trump announced on March 23, 2019 the end of ISIS. Yes, ISIS fell geographically, but the organization is not defeated  operationally, and is still carrying out qualitative operations."

He explained that there are several reasons for the recent activities of ISIS, and noted: "There are countries in the regional environment the anti-ISIS and extremist organizations force, and here I am talking about the Syrian Democratic Forces that are fought by the Turkish occupier, who is constantly attacking them."

He drew attention to the fact that the international community has not played its real role in confronting ISIS, but doesnt support the Syrian Democratic Forces as required, and said: "So far, no support has been provided in order to solve the dilemma of ISIS detainees and their families."

Munir Adeeb noted that the final elimination of ISIS requires intensifying efforts and confronting the countries that support ISIS and terrorist organizations, especially the Turkish state.  Therefore, Turkey sided with ISIS and terrorist organizations against the Syrian Democratic Forces.

 Munir Adeeb pointed out that there is "a real problem in confronting ISIS mercenaries, whether by the Iraqi government forces and the Kurdistan Regional Forces, which is the lack of a vision and strategy to confront these extremist organizations, and playing on the idea of ​​political interest in supporting these organizations by countries in the regional environment or by  intelligence services of some other countries.

 "This leads to the strengthening of these organizations that carry out operations, as happened in the village of Heiban in the Kurdistan region," adds Adib.
