KNK: All Kurdish forces must confront ISIS attacks

The Executive Council of KNK issued a statement about the attacks launched by ISIS on Makhmur, reported by Firat News Agency that reads:

ISIS has been launching attacks against our areas, especially against the disputed areas of Article 140, which result in casualties from Peshmerga and civilians, everyone knows ISIS organization and its thirst for blood, but these attacks are not without the  Kurds' enemies support "our people are under threat from Shingal to Khanaqen,  that are the disputed areas under Article 140 of Iraqi constitution.

The statement added: "A few days ago, ISIS attacked several areas, such as vicinity of Karkuk, Kafri, Klaar and some other areas, and a number of Peshmerga lost their lives as a result of these attacks. Also last night, ISIS attacked Khadrjeja village, that 10 Peshmerga and 3 villagers lost their lives. On this basis, we offer our condolences to victims' families and to Kurdish people".

ISIS organizes itself in Qarajokh Mountain

The statement continued, "Everyone realizes that ISIS organizes itself on Qarajokh Mountain, and launches attacks. But unfortunate and strange thing is that Kurdistan Regional Government did not take the necessary measures to confront these attacks."

All forces in Kurdistan must take the responsibility to protect these areas

The statement indicated that "our people who live there are in big danger, and this issue is not a partisan issue, it is a Kurdish issue, so all forces in Kurdistan must take the responsibility to protect these areas and take the necessary measures, and Regional Government has a great responsibility in this, and the necessary measures must be taken as soon as possible".

The statement stressed, "We, the Kurdistan National Congress, will take the necessary measures to confront these attacks and take our responsibilities. We also call on all our members in parties, organizations and individuals, to rise together to protect our people in this region".

With this incident, we remember Kurdistan' martyrs with a spirit of struggle, offer our condolences to Kurdistan people, and we pledge to continue our struggle against all terrorist attacks".
