The lawyers of Al-Asr Legal Office had submitted a request to the Penal Court in Bursa on November 22 for an urgent meeting with the leader Abdullah Ocalan and each of the detainees Hamili Yildirim, Weisi Aktas and Omar Khairy Konar.

The lawyers stated that they had not been able to obtain information about the status of Leader Ocalan and other clients for 8 months, and that they did not know anything about their health conditions, detention conditions, legal conditions, as well as measures related to the coronavirus.

The lawyers demanded the court to end this situation and enable them to meet with their clients.

The Penal Court in Bursa, which rejected the lawyers' request, clarified that it had imposed a sentence on Ocalan, as of October 12, and thus prevented him from meeting for a period of 6 months.

The court also refused the visits of clients' families, on the grounds that the Presidency of the Disciplinary Authority in the Directorate of the Penal Institution in Imrali had imposed the penalty of "banning visits" as of August 18 for a period of 3 months.

The court did not provide any information about the reason for preventing lawyers' visits for 6 months or preventing family visits for 3 months.
