Palestinian journalist: Kurdish-Arab relations must be restored to their normal position

Thaer Nofal Abu Atiwi explained that the Kurdish people adopt of the idea of coexistence within a peaceful and consensual framework that aims to create qualified Kurdish entity for a political, social and cultural horizon with all the Arab brothers from the ocean to the Gulf.

Nofal's statements during dialogue forum organized by the Academy of Politics and Democratic Thought, and the Regional Integration Forum, on Sunday, to discuss the possible ways to remove PKK from the terrorist lists, with the participation of a number of local, regional and international political and academic figures

The forum was organized under the title “Isn’t it time to remove PKK from the lists of terrorism” via Zoom application, with a participation of a number of politicians and intellectual, including the former Egyptian ambassador to Iraq Sherif Shaheen, and Ragai Fayed, head of the Cairo Center for Kurdish Studies and Research, and vice head of the center Al-Araby for Political and Strategic Studies, Dr. Mukhtar Ghobashi, Jordanian writer Raddad Elias, Palestinian journalist Thaer Nofal Abu Atiwi, Lebanese journalist Hamo Moscovian, head of the Democratic Modernity Party Firas Kassas, director of the Association of Kurds Without Borders Kadar Beri, and co-chair of the Legislative Council in the Jazira region Hikmat Habib, member of the co-chairmanship of the Democratic Union Party, PYD, Saleh Muslim.

Nofal's interventions focused on Kurdish-Arab relations; At first he congratulated the 43rd anniversary of the founding of PKK, by saying: “We are also on the cusp of the anniversary of launch of the contemporary Palestinian revolution on January 1, 1965, and Palestinian National Liberation Movement Fatah, we congratulate PKK with sincere greetings and best wishes on the occasion of the forty-third anniversary.

The Kurdish issue has importance and interests in the Palestinian life

Nofal made the point clear that the Kurdish issue "has a concern and interest in Palestinian life due to the importance of the interconnected relationship that brings our Palestinian people together with the Kurdish brothers within common denominators whose title is justice of the cause, in order to restore legitimate rights and live in security, stability, peace and independence."

Nofal indicated that, through the Palestinian revolution, the Palestine Liberation Organization was supportive of the Kurdish brothers with all means in the belief of the PLO in the depth of the Kurdish cause and its just demands.

Nofal noted that the efforts of the Kurds, in the context of the anniversary of the founding of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, are based on the principles of justice and advocacy for freedom of peoples, social justice and refusing of all forms of extremism and terrorism.

The Palestinian writer stressed that what is required today is to shed more light on the Kurdish brothers and their just cause in order to achieve the Kurdish hope for a free, just and dignified life, which guarantees preservation on political affiliation and identity. Through Strengthening Kurdish-Arab relations in an oasis of brotherhood and love.

Nofal said: "It has become necessary to think outside the closed box, and to search seriously for links and bridges that restore Kurdish-Arab relations to their natural position through belief in the human and political rights of the Kurds and supporting them in the Arab world in order to achieve a Kurdish reality that guarantees live in freedom and stability through the official Arab focus on opening bilateral relations with our Kurdish brothers and developing programs and mechanisms that achieve Kurdish stability in accordance with purposeful and constructive Arab aspirations. At the end of his intervention, Nofal wished freedom for the Kurdish prisoners and detainees, and the leader Abdullah Ocalan.
