​​​​​​​Memorial ceremony held for victims of Amuda cinema fire

On the 61st anniversary of the Amuda cinema fire, a memorial ceremony was held today for the martyrs of the fire in Amuda district.

 Organized by the Union of Intellectuals of the Jazira Region, the Kurdish Writers Union in Syria, and the Rojavai Kurdistan Intellectuals Union (HRRK), a memorial ceremony was held today for the victims of the Amuda cinema fire, which killed more than 280 children.  The ceremony was held in the Martyrs' Park in Amuda.

 During the ceremony, a member of the Intellectuals Union of Al-Jazira region, Khalis, a photographer, delivered a speech in which he remembered the victims of the Amuda cinema fire, and said: "The Kurdish people must not extinguish the fire of revolution and resistance, and not abandon their cause until freedom is achieved and the dream of all the martyrs is fulfilled."

 The ceremony concluded with the lighting of candles around a statue that symbolizes the harem of Amuda Cinema.
