PKK: migration of Kurds from Başûr is due to lack of freedom, democracy and justice

The committee of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) issued a statement regarding the tragedy of the refugees from Southern Kurdistan in the forests on Belarus-Poland borders, reported by Furat News Agency.

 It stated:

"The tragedy experienced by Kurdish immigrants in Belarus is a result of 30 years of the authority of Southern Kurdistan and the policies of the occupying countries, especially the Turkish occupation state in Kurdistan, and that according to estimates, more than 30 thousand Kurds migrated from Başûr (Southern Kurdistan) to foreign countries last year.  in a dangerous sign that will affect the fate and future of our nation."

The committee explained the reasons for the migration of Kurds from Southern Kurdistan with two main points: first, that the Kurdish people in Southern Kurdistan waged a great and unparalleled struggle in the name of freedom, democracy, equality and justice, which culminated with the renaissance of 1991 and created a political situation for this part of Kurdistan;  But after years of lack of freedom, democracy, equality, justice, freedom of thought and expression, as well as the emergence of elements such as corruption, unemployment, poor economic situation and thus the despair of equity, led to a dangerous wave of migration of young people, the elderly, women and children.

The second reason, is that the occupying countries of Kurdistan, especially the Turkish state, occupy Parts of Başûr in cooperation with mercenary forces and spread extremist jihadist groups there on the one hand, and on the other hand, the way is being paved for the migration of our people abroad, especially the youth through mafia groups, smuggling and espionage;  In this way, they want to change the demographics of the region through occupation and immigration, erasing the Kurdish identity and turning the region to spread fascist Turkish nationalism and extremist jihadist ideology;  This is a planned campaign aimed at waging a special war to empty Kurdistan of its indigenous people and change its demographics.”

The Foreign Relations Committee of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) evaluated the statement of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK) Spokesman, Safeen Dizai, and said: “The surprising thing is that the KDP Spokesman is covering up the crimes and shame of the KDP government instead of the truth, and attacking the PKK and the Kurdistan Freedom Movement.”

 The Committee renewed its solidarity with the tragedy of the Kurdish refugees on the border between Belarus and Poland, and called on our people, especially the youth, not to abandon their homeland and escalate their struggle for freedom, democracy and justice;  it called on the national forces, to realize the fact that these migrations are a result of their policies, and to take the necessary measures to protect the Kurdish migrants and return them to their homelands.

 The committee also called on the KDP authorities and said: "We call on the party authorities to take a closer look at this situation, and instead of blaming this and that, it should realize the basic causes of the mass migration of our people and take responsibility; in this regard, freedom, security and livelihood opportunities must be provided.  honor and dignity for all citizens and make efforts to remove the foundations of immigration and displacement.”
