PYD: Kobane became an icon of Kurds' free will

On November 1^st that marks the World Kobane Day General Council of the Democratic Union Party, the PYD, issued today a statement on the sacrifices made when the Kobane legend gained prominence globally saying the resistance put up in Kobane has become a symbol of what could be done by the Kurdish free will.

''Kobane that was obscure prior to the legendary resistance expressed the will of the Kurdish people in the face of terror and its sponsors and became an icon for all suppressed peoples all over the world. The resistance was put up by defensive and simple individual means people only were armed with strong and free determination and will in the face of middle age terror saturated with highly advanced weapons that swept large cities such as Mosul, Deir Ezzor and Raqqa among many others with no resistance shown up devouring armies but when it reached Kobane it was broken on the will of people supported by Kurdish people in the whole of Kurdistan giving impetus to the humanity at large including Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS to  take the side of the Kurdish people and other components inflicting crushing defeats of ISIS resulted in the loss of its capital in Raqqa then the last geographic Baghouz pocket''.

The statement noted '' the victory attained in Kobane and NES is a victory for all humanity''.

''we bow in deference to all martyrs of the Kobane epic and all freedom seeking martyrs and fighters'', it added.

We call on our people to cling to the spirit of the Kobane historical and great resistance for it is the light at the end of the tunnel to reach democracy and coexistence under the democratic nation idea for which our martyrs sacrificed their lives to highly evaluate this day and resistance that brought international attention for it was a victory for all humanitarian values against terror and its sponsors''.
