Jurist: International silence encourages Turkey to bomb Kurds with chemical weapons

In this context, Idris Esso, member of the Lawyers’ Union in North and East Syria, indicated that the Turkish occupation state defies all international covenants and charters and international and humanitarian law, by continuing to use internationally prohibited chemical weapons in legitimate defense areas, considering them as war crimes.

He noted that the international community must do its duty and refer the perpetrators of these crimes to international courts, especially the International Criminal Court, which has jurisdiction over crimes committed under the name of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Esso stressed that the absence of deterrent measures against Turkey in the international arena encourages it to continue its crimes against the Kurds, saying, "The Turkish occupation state continues to commit these crimes, because there is no legal, moral or punitive deterrent, and the international community does not stand by these crimes and refer their perpetrators. to the relevant international courts.
