KNK decries the use of chemical weapons by Turkish occupation against the Kurdish people

Yesterday, according to what was reported by Furat news agency, Kurdistan National Conference issued statement in Hewler City about the using of chemical weapons against the Kurdish people, calling upon the international community to break its silence regarding these crimes that committed by Turkish occupation.

The statement was delivered by the member of conference, Shukar Allah Mohammed Amin, in which he said.” Turkish state is launching a violent war against our people, violating all moral and legal standers, it reached to high level of war crimes, using of internationally prohibited chemical weapons, its goal is to eradicate our people, Turkish occupation violates people’s rights in Northern Kurdistan and attacking its south and Rojava on daily basis, the purpose of these attacks is to destroy the gains of our people and to occupy more Kurdistan territories.”

The statement continued” that Turkish state kills the Kurdish people on daily basis and continues its attacks until it reaches the stage of repeated use of internationally prohibited weapons as results of the silence of the international community, if Erdogan's war policy does not stop, there will be a catastrophe like the Ba'athist regime and our people will be in great danger. We call on the United Nations, the United States, Europe, China, Russia and the Arab States not to turn a blind eye to this war crime in their economic interests. "

The statement added” we need Fact Finding Committee to investigate about the crimes and the use of internationally prohibited chemical weapons in the region, and see how the Turkish state uses chemical weapons. Erdogan must be pressured, end this war and take steps for peace. We call on the Iraqi Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, KRG, not to allow the Turkish occupying state to penetrate of Iraqi sovereignty and burn down nature.”

In concluding the statement, the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) called on "all political parties, international organizations, religious leaders, intellectuals, freedom fighters and all citizens to shoulder their humanitarian responsibilities and stand up to the attacks of Erdogan and the occupying Turkish state."

For six months, the Turkish occupation has been carrying out violent attacks on the legitimate defence areas of Zap, Avaşîn, Metîna, without undermining the resistance of strugglers, despite the use of internationally banned chemical weapons against them, amid shameful international silence.
