PUK decries Turkish occupation shelling on Southern Kurdistan lands

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, PUK, condemned, in a statement, the Turkish occupation state's bombing of the Çemçemal district of Sulaymaniyah in Başûr (Southern Kurdistan), describing the scene as a bad development.

The statement was issued by the political office of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in response to a Turkish UAV targeting a civilian car in the vicinity of Çemçemal district of Sulaymaniyah, in the center of Southern Kurdistan, on evening Friday.

The statement described this bombing as a dangerous development after Turkey went too far and crossed the borders into the heart and depth of Başûr Kurdistan and Iraq, "The transgression of the borders witnessed by the heart and depth of Kurdistan and Iraq is a bad development," condemning in the strongest terms the "bombing of Turkish planes to the Qarnjir borders near the city of Kirkuk, which left casualties and damage."

The statement called for an immediate end to border breaches and crimes against civilians, stressing, "We demand the federal government to perform its constitutional and national tasks in defending the territory of Iraq and the Kurdistan region through its diplomatic channels and to alert the Turkish government about this breach."
