Şengal's AA: We not to allow PDK militants to occupy Şengal

The Autonomous Administration in Şengal announced that the Kurdistan Democratic Party is doing everything in its power to bring its militants into Şengal stressing that "any attempt by the latter to enter Şengal will not be acceptable, and we will show great resistance."

Today, the Autonomous Administration of Şengal issued an urgent statement regarding the attempts of the KDK to enter Şengal through its armed forces, while the administration confirmed that it had recently received some information that the KDP would try to control Şengal by force. The Autonomous Administration of Şengal described these attempts as provocative.

The administration stressed that it will not remain silent in the face of these attempts, and will not accept the occupation of it in any way, and will exercise its right to legitimate defense to the end. It called on the Iraqi government to move against these provocative actions by the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

And the statement on this issue stated the following: “We recently received information that the Kurdistan Democratic Party is trying to enter Şengal with its military forces, and to carry out provocations and turn our people against each other.

We see this matter as very dangerous. We warn public opinion about this issue and call on it not to remain silent in the face of these provocations. As it is known, we are in the process of parliamentary elections in Iraq, and in order for the elections to take place in a democratic and free manner, as an Autonomous Administration, we have accomplished the tasks on our shoulders, we consider that it is very important for the future of Iraq and the Yazidi people not clash in it and in particular since 2017, the security situation in Şengal is good and the electoral process will be very democratic and safe, and the proof of this is that Baba Sheikh was visiting Şengal, moving from house to house in a windy way amid a warm reception from the people.

"Bring the armed forces a provocation"

With the Iraqi parliamentary elections approaching, bringing the KDP to Şengal is considered a provocation, and it is clear that the KDP candidate will not win the Iraqi parliamentary elections in it, so it works to hide its defeats by creating chaos and conflicts.

“We will resist”

We announce it to the public that we will not accept the militants of the Kurdistan Democratic about any disturbance that will occur in Shingal, and we also call on the government of Iraq to assume its responsibilities regarding this issue and to stand in the face of these provocations.”
