​​​​​​​Ahmed Turk: Kurdish cause does not perish when they say there is no Kurdish cause

 Turk explained that the meeting with leader Abdullah Ocalan will have a significant positive impact on the stage, and said, "His participation in the process will facilitate the issue, and in my opinion he should take his place at this stage."

 Another year goes on the October 9 international plot, and assessments and reactions against it continue. Abdullah Ocalan has been detained in Imrali prison since February 15, 1999. Leader Ocalan said of the plot, "The role they gave the Turkish state in the conspiracy is that of a guard."

 Turk commented on this statement of the leader, explaining that in order to finish this task they assigned to the Turkish state, the people must support democracy.

 Turk responded to the statements of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who said, "There is no Kurdish cause in Turkey."  "Of course nothing perishes when someone says it doesn't exist," he said.

 The co-chair of the Merdin municipality, Ahmed Turk, who was dismissed from his job and appointed as a guardian of the municipality, spoke to our agency about the international conspiracy against the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the severe isolation in Imrali prison and the interlocutors (parties) to solve the Kurdish cause.

 * The 24th anniversary of the international conspiracy against the leader Abdullah Ocalan is approaching. How can the position and struggle of the Kurdish community be evaluated since the beginning of the conspiracy?

The Kurdish people have paid a heavy price so far. Without a doubt, the struggle is to turn this stage into a peaceful stage and at least achieve the physical freedom of Mr. Ocalan.  Of course, these attempts are not enough.  It is not only the fault of the Kurdish people;  Rather, it is because of the interests and international relations in this period are also bad.

 Human rights, democracy, rights and freedoms have declined;  That is why no progress has been made in this area so far.

 If the liberationist tendency won, one could say that some things will change over time.  In fact, the culture of democracy in Turkey has not developed much, putting us in constant danger.  That is why today the struggle is taking place for a democratic future and for the unity of the Kurds, Turks and all peoples that are based on common democratic values.

 Today the Friends of the Kurds also pursue an active policy, and unfortunately the state's perception of the Kurds as a potential threat continues.  Therefore, its position on all politicians who want to eliminate troubles and difficulties, develop a peaceful process, secure freedoms and liberate all politicians has not changed.  Of course, I believe that this struggle will change many things over time.

 The conspiracy took place on the international scene.  But leader Abdullah Ocalan indicated that the Turkish state was assigned a guard role in this conspiracy.  When one looks to see what happened in the past, how the plot was carried out in Imrali and of course abroad, how does one explain it?

 We've been following this for years.  We also know that Turkey has reached this point as a result of the international conspiracy.  But it is not correct to consider this as a mere conspiracy carried out by the international powers.  For hundreds of years, we have faced a perception that the Kurds are seen as a threat to them in this geography.  You must see this.

 Nationalism, racism and fascist mentality are still prevalent in this country, and they constitute an obstacle in the way of change, transformation and democracy.  There is also a link between the solution of the Kurdish cause and the democratic future. Without making Turkey a democracy, the Kurdish cause cannot be solved and an environment in which the Kurds can breathe, and there is no opportunity for democracy in Turkey until the Kurdish issue is resolved.  So there are no serious endeavors for change and transformation.  If so.  Today there are more than 12,000 politicians in prison with unjust and unfair trials and many plots against all prisoners.

 We must insist on completely changing this logic, and taking joint steps towards a truly democratic future.  And this insistence must be continued.

 * What calculations did the international powers make when they assigned the role of guard to Turkey?  Why was this role given to Turkey and is it continuing?

 Turkey continues to guard, and we are already against this.  Above all, a common consciousness must emerge in Turkey.  An awareness of common democratic values ​​for the peoples, and an end to these relations.  As a defender of the dominant and imperialist powers in the Middle East.  It's been like this for years.

We all know that Germany has been training the army in Turkey for 150 years, and this has had a profound effect on Turkey.  This policy is not over yet, and Germany continues its relations with Turkey today as part of its 150-year-old policy.  There are also accounts of imperialist powers who want to keep Turkey in a state of monopoly and want to play a role in the Middle East according to their wishes.  Of course, the Kurds alone do not have the opportunity to change this.  But it can bring about transformation in partnership with the democratic forces in Turkey.

 For Turkey to finish this guard duty, the people must uphold democracy and liberate themselves from the influence of imperialist powers.  We cannot fully define the calculations of international powers.  But we know they use turkey very easily.

 * Many explanations have been given about one of the main goals of the conspiracy, which is to obstruct the Kurdish people's struggle for freedom and democratization of the region.  But today, many people know that the leader, Abdullah Ocalan, is their leader.  How should this approach of the peoples be evaluated, and also what is your assessment of extreme isolation and insistence on its continuation?

 Without a doubt today, this model is accepted by some peoples.  In order for this model to have an impact on Middle Eastern society, change and transformation must be brought about.  When we look at the Middle East today, we see that there is a perception that hinders a democratic future and we can cite Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Iran as examples.  The mentality of exclusivity, fascism and racism dominates this region.  If people do not bring about change and transformation, this will always impede progress.

Together, peoples, models and ideologies must bring about change,  That is, the people must adopt this model that leads to this end.

 The Kurds today are not just an ideology, but a nation with different components and beliefs.  No matter how good ideologies are if they do not reach the level that national logic and all peoples can share, the chances of success are very low.  So people should be approximated by this model.

 * The leader Abdullah Ocalan has repeatedly stated in his pleadings and in his meetings in Imrali, that he will solve the problem of the Middle East, especially Turkey.  Why does the Turkish government not take any step despite these calls? Is it afraid or not wanting a solution?

 There is a strong people in the Middle East, there are more than 40 million people who speak the Kurdish language, and everyone considers the Kurds a potential threat, so they are trying to obliterate the Kurds.  We are faced with the logic that the Kurds are seen as a potential threat not only in Turkey, but also in Syria, Iran and Iraq.  Free and democratic life for the national authorities.

 On the issue of solving the Kurdish issue, I always say;  If you cannot know the language, culture, beliefs and identity of the people well, you will not solve this problem.  when you accept the rights of the people;  You can find the solution.  Today, the Kurdish issue is being discussed and some issues are discussed.  Why are the Kurds' rights, future, political status and rights not recognized?  So solving the issue will not be easy.

 We must open the door to the development of a continuous peace process and the resolution of this issue;  Because our existence as a people equals a democratic, free and equal future;  If the door is opened to such issues, opinions should be evaluated and followed up.  You can't close the door, you have to open it.  Sometimes you may not be very optimistic but discussing the process is also important.

 For some time, the subject of my interlocutors (the parties) of the Kurdish issue has been discussed, and the leader Ocalan had said, "I am trying to make room for the Kurds, come to solve the Kurdish issue. I say I will eliminate the possibility of conflict within a week. I will solve the matter. I am confident in myself and I am ready for a solution."  But the state and the state mind have to do their part.”  The HDP also explained how different parties can play a role.  So who is the focus of this issue and with whom is it resolved?

 There has been an effort in democratic politics since 1991. In that period the people fought for a free future and made many sacrifices.

 It is important to address democratic politics.  This is what we say.  There are actors outside the HDP, and this issue is not a one-sided issue.  Everyone should be convinced of this.  When we first went to Imrali, Commander Apo stressed the importance of democratic politics.

Of course, Leader and the PKK are also interlocutors (parties).  Examples of this are found elsewhere in the world.  The Irish Liberation Army was a decision-making center for a while, but after a period of democratic politics.  When a solution is reached, the question will be about the situation of the PKK and the leader Apo.  So;  There is no chance of the success of this process without the PKK and Leader.  A step must be taken in this direction.  These discussions will take place and everyone will express their thoughts.  It should be seen this way.

*Another aspect of this discussion is the reason for raising such a topic at this stage.  What is your comment on this matter?

 There is a reckoning with power, and the Kurds today play a major role, and without the Kurds, no one has a chance to gain power.  But if someone says something to solve the Kurdish issue, we must listen.  The right thing is that they should cooperate.  This is my personal idea.  But in the end, everyone saw that the HDP had a major role in Turkish politics.  Everyone knows that today he got 12-13 percent of the vote.  So it is important to us that people come together in a shared democratic future.

 *The Kurdish issue, which was not resolved during the first and second world wars, they are trying to leave it unresolved now during the third world war as well.  Erdogan also said, "There is no such issue in Turkey. It has already been resolved and we have finished it."  Regarding this persistent problem, why are they constantly denied and said to have solved it?

 The truth is that if there was no issue, it wouldn't be on the agenda.  They say, "We have solved this, and there is no Kurdish issue."  If it doesn't exist, how do you say it?  Why should it always be on Turkey's agenda?  Why are so many Kurds imprisoned when they practice politics and express their ideas?

 Courts today are like independence courts.  Except for this case.  Why do we face all this pressure, terror and prison policy?  Of course nothing is lost when someone says it doesn't exist.

 On the 21st anniversary of the plot, the occupation attacks on Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî began.  What does the timing of these attacks refer to?

 There is an Ottoman logic.  Where all methods are used to suppress and obliterate the Kurds around the world;  To prevent their access to political recognition and to suppress the struggle.

 *Do you have a word you would like to direct to end the severe isolation?

 Without a doubt, everyone, especially our people and our friends, has an important role to play in ending this isolation and strengthening demands in this field for the emergence of a stronger democratic politics.

 * How will the meeting with Commander Abdullah Ocalan affect this process?

 I am sure this will have a very positive impact on the stage;  Because Mr. Ocalan has always said that it is time to develop a peaceful process.  He stated this very clearly in our meetings.  I am confident that his participation in the process will facilitate the case and in my opinion he should take his place at this point.
