Muslim: To succeed in our democratic project, we must unite, share responsibility

The co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Anwar Muslim, affirmed that "if we want to succeed in our democratic project in the region, every member of our society must bear the responsibility, so that we can together overcome the pressures exerted on us by the Turkish occupation state through its agents," in a speech he delivered at the anniversary celebration. The administration of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in the Euphrates region celebrated the 18th anniversary of the party’s founding, in the village of Hilinc, south of the city of Kobani, at the Academy of the Martyr Amkihan Judi, and the celebration was limited only to a speech by the party’s co-chair Anwar Muslim, due to the ban of the pandemic.

The celebration was attended by a number of political figures in the Democratic Union Party, and the celebration began with a minute of silence, after which the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party Anwar Muslim delivered a speech in which he recalled the history of the party.

Anwar Muslim said: "Our party was able to forge a difficult path in the past years under the difficult circumstances in which we faced fascist regimes, such as the Syrian regime and the Turkish occupation state, who tried to exile us through the agreements that were secretly concluded between them, and let us succeed in this project and be able to thwart those plans on. Every person in our community has to bear the responsibility for the next stage so that we can make our project a success together in the region.”

Muslim added: "Our party was the owner of a popular national project. That is why it succeeded and was able to play its role in the July 19 revolution and to bring the peoples of the region to administer their areas themselves, and for this reason Turkey is trying to thwart our project in the region in general and the Kurdish arena in particular, and it only took the occupation of many from our regions.

At the conclusion of his speech, Anwar Muslim pointed out that "even the mountains of Kurdistan did not escape the occupation state, and unfortunately the Kurdistan Democratic Party helps him in this, and we hope that this party will move away from the Turks and return to the Kurdistan national line."
