Mostafa Hamo: Turkey seeks to occupy more lands before Lausanne centenary

The attacks of the Turkish occupation army, with all its modern weapons and warplanes, continue to target the peoples of the region, with the aim of creating chaos and displacing them from the areas of north and east Syria, especially the displaced people of Afrin living in al-Shahba.

In this regard, Member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party, Mostafa Hamo, told ANHA, "The Turkish attacks on the areas of north and east Syria and al-Shahba canton in recent times are the result of chaos and problems inside Turkey, so the Turkish government wants to draw the attention of the interior to the wars and problems it provokes externally."

Targeting the resistant people

Hamo indicated that the Turkish occupation army has been targeting the areas of north and east Syria since the beginning of the crisis because the peoples living in the region are organizing and protecting themselves according to the democratic nation's project, "and Erdogan sees this project as a threat to his Ottoman occupational policy and project."

Hamo said that the Turkish state is seeking, through its attacks, to target the Autonomous Administration and al-Shahba areas to create strife and sow confusion among the peoples of the region and try to displace them.

During his speech, Mostafa Hamo noted that "Turkey continues its attacks on the region, and is trying to occupy more Syrian lands before the centenary of the Lausanne Agreement, so that the region it occupied would be a pressure card in its hand to control the neighboring countries and the countries of the world."

The fascist alliance of the Justice and Development Party and the Nationalist Movement Party sees the Lausanne Agreement of 1923 as a blow to the Turkish state, according to which it lost control of large lands in Southern Kurdistan, especially Mosul and Kirkuk, and insists on activating the Millî Pact which considers the lands extending from Aleppo to Southern Kurdistan as Turkish lands.

Mostafa Hamo, Member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party called on the people of north and east Syria and al-Shahba to join ranks in the face of the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries "because these attacks target the peoples' resistance in the first place, so everyone must resist and struggle against the fascist enemy."
